    QT Pro Win7 64bit repurchase?

    • Written by from North Sydney

I bought Quicktime pro while I was using my Windows XP region. And with the camera I have it was absolutely a bargain for the price.

I do have one issue though, now that I have upgraded my PC to Windows 7 64bit do I have to buy another copy to have a functioning Quicktime Pro?

    Should have read reviews

    • Written by from Whitehorse, Y.T.

I bought this product because I thought I could trust Apple to do what it says.I have numerous video from a camcorder (which it says the program can handle) that I wish to clean up and make home moives. It said it would do this, along with being able to add music. It does not! I also wasted my money and I am very angery and disappointed, all I can do is vent!

    Do not buy this product.

    • Written by from SAN DIEGO

I have owned every iPhone since the very first. I bought this product to 'enable" video correction to "de-rotate" videos which I had taken with my iPhone4. The download path is unclear and the tools which quicktime provides are technically weak and paradoxically difficult to use given what they do. Do not buy this product. It should be free and a simple "download now" button away from confusing you.

    • Written by from kettering

I did the mistake to not believe the reviews. I lost my money and my time. It is a useless product does not do what it says and does not work with the Itunes. The thnik is it is working with other programs even free ones. It is a shame for a wellknown company like apple to offer such a products. I am really disappointed.

    $30 wasted

    • Written by from HUDSONVILLE

Wow, pretty up to speed on tech stuff and I though an Apple "PRO" product would at least give me some pretty functional, basic tools with a reasonable user interface. Debated on going everything from Vegas to Final Cut but just needed to quickly an easily cut out stuff from HD cam to post to web. I was totally denied. what a bummer...

Tried to say something negative , but Apple censored the title. Guess they already knew what a lot of people would write.....

Trying to install Pro on an HP running Vista, but the instructions don't work. Even read the directions 3 times. Complete trash.

    PC or MAC

    • Written by from Brownsville

It would be MOST helpful if in your review the FIRST thing you mentioned was whether you are operating on a PC or MAC.

We are a IT company that runs on 100% MAC equipment, including one of the fastest raid5 servers utilizing a 5 terabyte back-up. We do have a couple PC's for testing data purposes.

I hear a lot of negative comments balanced by an equal number of positive comments.

I believe that QPro7 is a fine product for the price of $29.99...can we just say 30 dollars. 30 dollars is a value compared to most of the legit editing software today. For an average user if you couple QPro7 with the imovie software that is included with any newer MAC you would have most of your bases covered.

Unfortunately, Most of the hand held video cameras available in the USA market make it extremely difficult to modify or even download your video to the HD regardless if it is PC or MAC. Most cameras come with their own software disc so you need to use their software as a liaison to do anything including downloading to your HD.

If your using a semi-professional video camera to make editable movies for resale to a client/customer then you need way more robust software than QPro7. You are going to need to get off your wallets for approx $5K US dollars.

If all you are trying to do is change formats for editing a product called "Sound Taxi" works extremely well on PC (it's NOT free)- it will handle audio and video in the most popular formats. After they are converted you can do whatever you need to with whatever editing software you choose.

    Food for thought.

Great product if you have the ability to follow instructions

    • Written by from South Bend

I'm not sure what all the negative feedback is about, but this software works great. You can convert audio from one format to another. Some said you can't make mp3s, but you can convert audio into .wav format with Pro. Hello. You can convert video to many formats as well. You can capture pieces of video or audio and paste them anywhere you want to make your own movies or recordings. You can add special effects. Quite frankly, you can do a ton compared to the paltry $29 price. I'm not a computer guy by any means, and it only took me about 15 minutes of trial and error to figure out how great this product is. After you install, click on "Help" and you will be taken to a website that easily explains how to do everything.

    Bad product

    • Written by from Pine Valley

Wow, do I feel suckered, I upgraded to Pro thinking it would allow me to edit MOV files, boy was I wrong. This is the most inferior product I've ever purchased, it does practically nothing, even trimming a video is a major pain, but try to add titles or any effect and your in for a trial of frustration. I've tried at least a dozen times to add a title to one video and no matter what I do, it won't be there after the file is saved. Oh it will play in Quicktime but NOT in any other program including YouTube. Don't east your money.

Error: Not a Valid File Name

    • Written by from Newburgh

I upgraded to quicktime pro some time ago. I was able to trim my iphone longer videos and save them to my desktop as two different files. For example as, IMG_100-1 and IMG_100-2. For some reason I get a file error when I attempt "save as" and rename the files. I've tried words and other names, all with same "not a valid file name" error. It does allow me to save the original file as IMG_100-1. But then I must redownload it off my phone to trim it again and save it as IMG_100-2. Also when I save the original with a new name it does not lower the MB of the file size. So when I burn the files to a disk they still read 829 MB, or something really high. Even though the trimmed video is now closer to 260 MB.
