I bought an earlier version of this product (USB 2.0) from the Apple Store in 2014. The unit worked great for a little over 2 years, but then completely failed. It was never subjected to any abuse, and was essentially in the same location in my office for 2 years. I'm a bit surprised. I've bought perhaps a dozen external drives for myself and family members over the last 10 years. None failed this quickly. Most of them were Western Digital, and some the WD units lasted more than 10 years. That said, this has been the only disappointment among many purchases from the Apple Store.

      Very Reliable and Looks Awesome.

I've had this drive for a few years now, and it works exactly as you would want a hard drive to work. It looks fantastic next to my Mac.

First one has been so good I bought another.

My Mac Mini drive was full so I converted my old LaCie 4TB backup drive to a working drive and bought the new drive to use as a backup. Simple easy setup. Seaml My Mac Mini drive was full so I converted my old LaCie 4TB backup drive to a working drive and bought the new drive to use as a backup. Simple easy setup. Seamless backups, never had a problem. The bright indicator lights are not a problem to me, they're easy to shield. I don't care about the fancy "Porsche Design", but this is a lot of reliable storage for the money.
