Apple Accessories.

Redesigned. Rechargeable. Remarkable.

  • Overview

The Magic Keyboard combines a sleek new design with a built-in rechargeable battery and enhanced key features. With an improved scissor mechanism beneath each key for increased stability, as well as optimized key travel and a lower profile, the Magic Keyboard provides a remarkably comfortable and precise typing experience. It pairs automatically with your Mac, so you can get to work right away. And the battery is incredibly long-lasting — it will power your keyboard for about a month or more between charges.

I even asked Apple Chat Support, but they didn't know either. Well, the verdict is in! Thankfully, it paired just fine with my Windows 7 Lenovo ThinkPad. Also, I really like the type feel. Hopefully, this review will be helpful for anyone who is on the fence and needs it for a work PC in addition to their Mac.

I use an iPad most of the time at work, and I'm very used to typing on a flat surface, and I wanted a keyboard that felt more like that. I was able to play around with the new Macbook in an Apple Store and fell in love with the keyboard, but I couldn't afford the price tag or the smaller screen size. This keyboard is exactly what I wanted to fill the gap. The smaller keys are not quite as flat as the Macbook, but they are still more stable and easier to push. My typing accuracy has increased tremendously since I purchased this keyboard. If you like big keys that make an audible click, this is not the keyboard to you. Having full size function keys is also very nice, and helps when I'm trying to pause iTunes. The new arrow keys are very different, and have required a little getting used to. I keep having to look down at them to make sure that my fingers are on the correct keys. I'm sure this will pass with time and more use. Overall, the Magic Keyboard is a great device if you are looking for a new keyboard for a desktop Mac, but may not be worth it if you are already completely satisfied with your current keyboard.

I had my doubts given how flat the keyboard and the keys are, but I'm finding that the Magic Keyboard is a nice upgrade to the original keyboard, which was great. You just have to learn to minimize your strokes and movements, so there is a bit of a learning curve. The action is very nice and the keys are very responsive. Excellent job, Apple. I think my productivity is going to improve with this new keyboard and the Magic Trackpad, which I also am digging!

      Really flat

Very poor tactile feedback, almost feels as you would type on a touchscreen

As always, there are an abundance of reviews created by those who seemingly miss their large keyboards circa 1998. I understand being nostalgic but it's time to get real. Unfortunately the Internet has become a place for lonely people to offer their two cents or just to endlessly complain. Don't get me wrong, just because there are bad reviews doesn't mean they are invalid. Battery life is great. I use this with my iMac as well as my iPad Pro when I am on the go. It's size is great, it's size is the exact same as my MacBooks keyboard which is the whole idea behind it, unify the keyboard sizes to provide for a seamless experience. I read complaints about the arrow keys. Their spacing is the same as on my MacBook so the notion that this is somehow a new thing is plain false. Remember that virtually anything new requires you to get acclimated to it. Just because it isn't your keyboard from 1999 doesn't mean it has problems. If you are in search of a keyboard with removable batteries in which you spend money on batteries repeatedly then there is a vast variety of Logitech keyboards which are great. If you want a killer design, seamless functionality and reliability then buy this. I assure you that it's fantastic.
