Apple Accessories.

Redesigned. Rechargeable. Remarkable.

  • Overview

The Magic Keyboard combines a sleek new design with a built-in rechargeable battery and enhanced key features. With an improved scissor mechanism beneath each key for increased stability, as well as optimized key travel and a lower profile, the Magic Keyboard provides a remarkably comfortable and precise typing experience. It pairs automatically with your Mac, so you can get to work right away. And the battery is incredibly long-lasting — it will power your keyboard for about a month or more between charges.

I even asked Apple Chat Support, but they didn't know either. Well, the verdict is in! Thankfully, it paired just fine with my Windows 7 Lenovo ThinkPad. Also, I really like the type feel. Hopefully, this review will be helpful for anyone who is on the fence and needs it for a work PC in addition to their Mac.

I use an iPad most of the time at work, and I'm very used to typing on a flat surface, and I wanted a keyboard that felt more like that. I was able to play around with the new Macbook in an Apple Store and fell in love with the keyboard, but I couldn't afford the price tag or the smaller screen size. This keyboard is exactly what I wanted to fill the gap. The smaller keys are not quite as flat as the Macbook, but they are still more stable and easier to push. My typing accuracy has increased tremendously since I purchased this keyboard. If you like big keys that make an audible click, this is not the keyboard to you. Having full size function keys is also very nice, and helps when I'm trying to pause iTunes. The new arrow keys are very different, and have required a little getting used to. I keep having to look down at them to make sure that my fingers are on the correct keys. I'm sure this will pass with time and more use. Overall, the Magic Keyboard is a great device if you are looking for a new keyboard for a desktop Mac, but may not be worth it if you are already completely satisfied with your current keyboard.

      Amazing!

I had my doubts given how flat the keyboard and the keys are, but I'm finding that the Magic Keyboard is a nice upgrade to the original keyboard, which was great. You just have to learn to minimize your strokes and movements, so there is a bit of a learning curve. The action is very nice and the keys are very responsive. Excellent job, Apple. I think my productivity is going to improve with this new keyboard and the Magic Trackpad, which I also am digging!

      keyboard for children

great pairing, keeps a long charge, but terribly sized. I feel like a child typing on this thing, it's far to small and the fact that the top and bottom arrow k great pairing, keeps a long charge, but terribly sized. I feel like a child typing on this thing, it's far to small and the fact that the top and bottom arrow keys are significantly smaller then the left an right keys is beyond me. I don't have that big of fingers so I feel bad for those of you who are struggling with me and might have it worse. constantly finding myself deleting characters as everything is so squished on this thing.

      Bottom keys too short

By making the keys the same height the bottom keys, which I use very often, if not the keys that I use the most, became to less prominent. And the keys I use th By making the keys the same height the bottom keys, which I use very often, if not the keys that I use the most, became to less prominent. And the keys I use the least, the top keys, became more prominent. This makes me mistype on the arrow keys and the command keys, which is very annoying. The previous key design was much better, by putting functionality above visual design. It's very disappointing to see Apple changing to a "beauty" company, leaving its initial design principles behind. "Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works." - Steve Jobs "The aesthetic quality of a product is integral to its usefulness because products we use every day affect our person and our well-being. But only well-executed objects can be beautiful." - Dieter Rams

Nice product (don't understand negative reviews)

The bad reviews really gave me pause in purchasing this product. Instead of buying online, I went to the store first to try it out because I didn't want to make a mistake. Got to the store, everything seemed fine. (I'm a software designer and spend my whole day in front of a computer working on specs and designs so obviously a comfortable keyboard is extremely important.) I've been using it for a week now and I have no issues. The key travel is a little less than the previous version but certainly not uncomfortable and worthy of the scathing reviews and comments on poor design. Personally I find it to be a well designed and I have no issues with it at all. I'm happy I got it and in the future would buy it again.
