    Awesome for accident-prone people

I got this within two weeks of getting my new MacBook, and without it, my laptop might be dead a few times over. It fits really well (there is a very very small space above the function keys, 1 mm or less), and I was concerned about it slipping off, but it's stayed on really well. I don't notice it when typing at all, and it has gotten a little cloudy, but I've read from other reviews that you can use iKlear or baby oil to make it clear or shiny again. I wash it with dishsoap and it makes it clean again for a while.

I haven't had a problem with it causing my MacBook to overheat at all, and I haven't noticed any impact on audio quality whatsoever, as some other reviewers have said. Most importantly, it keeps dirt, dust, crumbs, pet hair, liquid spills, and everything else that dares venture near my keyboard from destroying my computer. I can just lift it up and shake it off, or get a paper towel and wipe something off of it, and my beautiful black keys are as shiny and new as when I first bought my MacBook 8 months ago. If you're like me and have clumsy moments here and there, this keyboard protecter is a life saver. Well worth the money.

    It works

It works great, keeps the dust, dirt and especially crumbs off and out of the keyboard. As for the fogging on the keys, I found that very annoying, I tried the iklear as someone else suggested, IT WORKS GREAT!! The moshi looks brand new. You have to remove the cover and clean both sides. For some odd reason most of the smudging and fogging seems to be on the back side of the cover. I also like the fact that it really quiets the clicking of the keys when typing.

    The best yet

I got this keyboard protector two weeks after buying the laptop because I noticed how my keys were getting dirty and wearing out. This is truly a good product to protect your keyboard. It gets dirty from the oil of your hand and may leave marks on the screen but it is barely noticeable. Getting it dirty is better than having your keyboard worn out after much usage. Good investment! One of the perks is it makes typing so much softer, especially when you're typing away in the library or in the room with someone.

    great product

I have a bad habit of snacking and drinking near my laptop. No worries with this little piece of kit. The feel of the keyboard is not at all compromised. Highly recommended.

    Clouds quickly.

Fits well. Protects well. But it is very conspicuous after only limited use. Washing helps but does not get rid of the fogged look. I love the contrast between the dark black keys of my MBP and its polished aluminum case. Unfortunately, for the sake of protection, this beauty must hide under a cloudy cover.

Not sure if I'm going to keep it on for much longer..

It is rather thin and fits relatively well over the keys, though I'd have to agree with others that it is stiff and gets cloudy quickly. I cleaned it gently with soap and water and let air dry just as the instructions said, and yet it only intensified. It makes the shiny black keys on my macbook pro very dull and harder to press, so I am frequently tempted to take it off, yet it is a necessity to keep it protected. Not worth the price.

you can barely see it (when it's brand new of course)
protects it from dust and supposedly spills (not going to test that one out)
    thinner than most others

cloudy over time and after cleaning
    stiff when typing

    Pretty Good, but stiffens keys.

This does what is supposed to do. Looks good and stays in place reasonably well (just beware of windy places). Haven't had any issues with overheating (17-inch MBP unibody).

The reason this is getting four stars is that the keys feel (physically) less responsive with the film on---i.e stiffer, so they don't feel as springy. But you get used to it and it does break in a little bit....but that's not like terrible or anything.

I would recommend this product over others all in all.

Ridiculously overpriced and gets cloudy pretty quick

the moshi cover is better than most other keyboard covers but does get cloudy and difficult to clean. The price is a joke. Not really a necessity

Can cause overheating issues on older Macbooks

Purchased this for my daughter - she really wanted to keep her hair out from the keys of her Macbook. A few months later, her Macbook was literally overheating and the fans were very audible. Removing the protector solved the issue immediately. She only uses it now when she uses her Macbook for short periods of time, longer sessions she removes it. Apparently her roommate was suffering the same issue, and had the same protector.

Be careful, it does what it is supposed to do, but it can cause issues with your Mac.

    Muffles the sound!

I got a new 13" macbook pro for school this year and i decided to buy this protector because i felt that it would be a good investment, it serves its purpose, and gets really dirty with fingerprints, but luckily its washable, it isnt as flat as it says and with it on, the sound of the macbook isnt as good which is a little disappointing, but it does what is supposed to!

Honestly? It kinda stinks, but you should still buy it.

    1. Sits loosely on the keyboard - nothing to hold it in place, so if you type as fast as I do, you will end up needing to readjust after a few minutes...by that, I mean just run your hand across the keyboard to smooth it out. Not a huge issue, but it is there.

    2. More opaque than photo shows. It looks like exactly what it is...a plastic rubbery thingy flopping around on my keyboard.

    3. Doesn't really lay flat - you can always see a good 1/8" of space between the top row of keys and this protector. This is the main reason why this product is so unsightly. If it really would lie flat, you wouldn't be able to see it quite so much.

    4. It ain't all that thin. That doesn't seem to affect the function, so I wouldn't bring it up if they weren't touting it in their advertising. That said, it definitely feels awkward, especially when it starts lifting up under my fingers.

    5. This product is a necessary evil - If Apple could make their keyboard keys out of a halfway decent material, I wouldn't need this stupid thing.

I'm extremely irritated that my MacBook Pro's keys started showing wear after 5 days of use...that said, I still love the MacBook Pro and recommend it to everyone.

    not that great

Takes quite a bit of getting used to it when typing and if you type fast and hard, sometimes it flies right off the keys. The biggest annoyance is that when it gets dirty it also transfers A LOT of that dirt on to the screen when you close the laptop.
I've used it for a few days and then realized that it's not really all that useful... It's much better typing without it. Getting a cleaning kit and taking good care of your laptop it's probably a better solution.

I am even more impressed with this product in person than I was reading the great reviews and seeing the youtube videos on it.

I miss the smooth cool touch of the silver keys and how the beveled shape cradled your fingertips. I dislike the tactile quality of the black keys, how my finger oils leave their mark, and how my fingers don't glide across the surface. Since there are huge gaps between the keys I worried about dust. All of this led me to purchase a moshi clearguard.

It fell into place so so easily. I had a narrow tool on hand for pressing it into the grooves but it was completely unnecessary. I do see what people mean about the mold being slightly too large for the function keys at the top but it is hardly noticeable and hasn't caused me any problems while typing.

Right away I loved the feel of the clearguard OVER the feel of the naked keys. There is less friction so my fingers glide easier. Do note that the clearguard turns your matt keys into semi-glossy keys. If you have an overhead light you will notice a reflection. This doesn't bother me at all since the backlit keys overpower any glare that may make reading the keys difficult.

It's true, you can barely see this thing on. I can't believe it. Wow, I love it so much. The temperature hasn't been affected at all. I am typing at my normal speed and this thing has not shifted. That's what I was really worried about. I am even lying down with my knees bent up so my keyboard is at an extreme angle and it isn't going anywhere. I am now rubbing my hands up and down and across, still not going anywhere.

I am SO happy. 6 Stars for this product.

Is there a keyboard on your computer?

    Moshi protector :

Does not pick up a lot of dirt or lint.
    Thin and barely visible.
    Does not interfere with typing
No can really tell you have it.
Does not leave any marks on the screen.

    Could be a little cheaper
    Nothing else

I recently purchased a Zcover and I can tell youthat cover attracts dirt, lint, and any other small particles. The Zcover is hard to type on and warped after a 1 month of use. Do not buy the Zcover buy the Moshi keyboard Proctector.

    Nice product

I'm really glad I got this along with my MacBook. It's always been on and it's amazing how smudgy it got with fingerprints and everything. When you lift it up, you can see all the dirt and stuff. The keyboard though still looks completely brand new.

The only minor thing is that it touches the MacBook's screen a little since it's a little higher. This causes the outline of the keyboard almost to show up on the screen that's only visible on a black screen. It's easy to remove though with some of the iKlear stuff so it's really not a big deal. 5 stars from me!
