Macworld 2000: Joining Forces in New York

For user groups, there was more to Macworld Expo NY 2000 than walking the show floor and seeing Apple unveil some of the world’s coolest hardware and software. Several events increased user group exposure to the public and allowed user group leaders and members to meet with their peers. It’s amazing what user groups can learn and accomplish when they join together.

User Group University participants eagerly waited to enter the Steve Jobs keynote.

Apple User Group Breakfast
User group leaders had the opportunity to talk with other leaders and see some great presentations from Apple. Presentation topics included the Apple Solution Experts program, iTools, iMovie, and the Power Mac G4 Cube.

Apple User Group Guides
User group members were stationed in the Central Park Internet Café ready to answer attendee questions, show off the hottest booths on the show floor, and offer information about user groups.

Apple User Group University
User Group University offered user group leaders a full day to participate in interactive sessions on how to manage and improve user groups—presented by user group leaders, for user group leaders. See the movies.

The User Group Lounge
A comfy place on the show floor where user group folks gathered to meet and chat with other Mac community enthusiasts. This space was generously donated by IDG.
