Macworld 2001 Meet Me in San Francisco

User group visibility at Macworld continues to grow as volunteers become increasingly involved. Leaders and members had various opportunities to meet with their peers and swap ideas, as well as learn about what’s new at Apple. It’s amazing what user groups can learn and accomplish when they join together.

Rose Lynn, Lorene Romero, Jonas Skardis, and Chuck Joiner discuss topics in the User Group Lounge

Apple User Group Breakfast
User group leaders had the opportunity to talk with other leaders and see some great presentations from Apple. Topics included the Apple Solution Experts program, iTunes, iDVD, the supercomputing Power Mac and the awesome titanium PowerBook.

Apple User Group Guides
User group members were stationed in the Cable Car Internet Café ready to answer attendee questions, show off the hottest booths on the show floor and offer information about user groups.

Apple User Group University
Apple and the UG Advisory Board added a special perk to this year’s UGU by holding the sessions on the Apple Campus in Cupertino. Leaders spent the day in interactive sessions presented by fellow user group leaders, then wrapped it up with a visit to the Company Store.

The User Group Lounge
A comfy place on the show floor where user group folks gathered to meet and chat with other Mac community enthusiasts. This space was generously donated by IDG.
