49,2% of all Austrian companies are „one-person-companies“ (so called „EPU“ – Ein Personen Unternehmen). If you expand the group to companies with 0-9 employees, their percentage is 89,8% (source:Austrian chamber of commerce – WKÖ). In a survey amongst 4.000 entrepreneurs during the course of the Telefit-Roadshow of the Austrian chamber of commerce the results showed, that more than 50% of all participants still handle their enterprise administration with standard-software (text- and spreadsheet-processing software like Word and Excel). Dedicated ERP software is too complex and/or expensive to be used by this group of entrepreneurs. In addition, the often needed mobility is not supported, because the applications are mostly client-software that needs to be installed locally.

The project epunet attends to these matters and creates a new form of enterprise administration, with which all business processes can be carried out easily, intuitive, online and low-priced (in German). With these points in mind, the first prototype of the application was released in September 2008 and has since attracted more than 1,500 test-users. Many more features.
