The Loop adds local context to social networking allowing the exchange of information in the local area. The Loop uses the local area as the connection between users, meaning that as soon as you logon, you will start receiving updates relevant to your area. There is no requirement to build up a friend list prior to using the Loop, although adding friends will enhance your experience and allow you to keep in touch with friends outside of your current location.
The Loop is focused on information sharing, blogs, news, events, things to avoid etc. If something is relevant to the local community it will be here. Using web standard technologies, the Loop is accessible to all via any regular browser including mobile browsers. All functionality is available no matter what the connection type with a enhanced interface being displayed for richer browsers, with graceful degredation of the interface for older (less capable) browsers.
The interface is fast and responsive (even on slow connections and old mobile handsets) providing direct access to the inforation you require no matter what your location.
