About BeachExplorer
It is designed to assist you and your friends when you are having a hard time identifying habitants of the wadden sea near the coast of Sylt, Germany, when you are walking across the beach (in German) . BeachExplorer.org will ask you for a brief description of what you have found and offer you all you might need in return:

- information page about each organism
- number of times that kind of animal has been reported already and when
- pictures of what you have found
- a map that shows other places the animal has been reported at
- availability to share with friends via facebook

All in all, BeachExplorer, as an animal reporting system that is not only helping you to find out what shell is lying in front of your feet! With a large community of tourists and people who visit the island Sylt, Schutzstation Wattenmeer and biologists can analyze finding numbers, finding coordinates, and dates to understand animal population changes more easily to protect the ecosystem of the wadden sea! All with this web app by Niels Sievertsen.
