With Apple Trade In, it’s easy to trade in your eligible device for credit or have it recycled or reused for free.

Here’s how it works:

  1. See what your smartphone is worth. Answer a few questions to get your estimated trade-in value. We’ll credit your payment method after we receive and evaluate your trade-in.
  2. Get it ready to trade in. You’ll keep your trade-in device until you receive your new iPhone. We’ll send a trade-in kit and email instructions on how to back up and transfer your data, and how to prep your device before you ship it back.
  3. Ship your trade-in device within 14 days of receiving your new iPhone. After we receive your device, a team will inspect and verify its condition. If everything checks out, your trade-in is complete. If your device doesn’t match the condition you described, you’ll receive an email with next steps.

    4. Keep in mind: If you paid in full and the value of your trade-in was more than the cost of your new iPhone, you’ll receive an Apple Gift Card by email with the remaining amount.

How does recycling or reuse work? If your device doesn’t qualify for trade-in credit, please recycle it responsibly. You may bring your device to your nearest Apple Store and we’ll accept it for free.
