All Mac mini computers feature Intel’s eighth-generation (“Coffee Lake”) desktop-class processors with support for fast 2666MHz DDR4 memory and Intel UHD Graphics 630. Selecting a processor for your needs largely depends on the software you intend to run. Single-thread applications operate more efficiently with higher clock speeds, while software that uses multithreading will run best on a processor with more cores.

The standard 3.0GHz 6-core Intel Core i5 processor has 9MB of shared L3 cache and features Turbo Boost speeds of up to 4.1GHz. The 3.2GHz 6-core Intel Core i7 processor has 12MB of shared L3 cache, Turbo Boost speeds of up to 4.6GHz, and Hyper-Threading technology.

Mac mini comes standard with 8GB of high-performance memory running at 2666MHz speeds, and can be expanded to 64GB of Double Data Rate 4 (DDR4) synchronous dynamic random-access memory (SDRAM). The more memory your Mac mini has, the more apps you can run simultaneously and the better they will perform. If you’re planning to run multiple professional applications simultaneously, it’s a good idea to max out your memory.

This Mac mini comes standard with 512GB of fast SSD storage.³ SSD storage delivers significantly improved performance compared with a traditional hard drive — speed you will notice when you start up your Mac mini, launch an application, open a big project, or tackle data-intensive tasks. SSD storage has no moving parts, so it operates silently. For maximum capacity, you can configure up to 2TB of storage.

Note: Mac mini storage is not user accessible. If you think you may need more storage capacity in the future, consider upgrading at the time of purchase.

Mac mini has some of the most versatile ports and connectivity options of any Mac, allowing it to serve and adapt to a wide variety of situations and workflows.

Mac mini comes standard with 10/100/1000BASE-T Gigabit (1Gb) Ethernet using an RJ-45 connector. For network connections that are up to 10 times faster, Mac mini has a 10Gb Ethernet option. The 10Gb Ethernet option supports Nbase-T industry-standard 1Gb, 2.5Gb, 5Gb, and 10Gb network speeds using an RJ-45 connector. With 10Gb Ethernet, Mac mini will provide higher connectivity bandwidth for sharing files between desktops, working with high-performance network storage, or large-capacity data loads.
