With a Thunderbolt 2-HDMI 2.0 adapter, that MacBook Pro could utilize the capabilities of a 18 Gbps With a Thunderbolt 2-HDMI 2.0 adapter, that MacBook Pro could utilize the capabilities of a 18 Gbps ‘Premium High Speed’ cable.
The dedicated HDMI port is HDMI 1.4, which wouldn’t benefit from more than 10 Gbps ‘High Speed’ cable.- Answered by Alan D

Must be 10.2 Gbps for 4K, 18 Gbps for UH4K, More then 18 Gbps for 4.4.4. ( 10 Bit Choma ) or Dolby V Must be 10.2 Gbps for 4K, 18 Gbps for UH4K, More then 18 Gbps for 4.4.4. ( 10 Bit Choma ) or Dolby Vision. THIS CAN GO TO 48 Gbps.
