No, this is only compatible with devices that have USB-C ports and the earliest these were used were the 2016 MacBook pro's so a 2010 MacBook has USB 3.0 ports, not USB-C and therefore isn't compatible.

No, You would need a Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet adapter from Apple or if you don't need Gigabit speeds, a USB to Ethernet adapter would work.

No. This adapter is for USB C type connections. The MacBook Air does not have a USB C port.
