Answer
You need to have a HomeKit Hub (AppleTV or HomePod) and ensure it is within range of the Eve sensor. Then you can access remotely including notifications. We have an eve on the front door and sends timely notifications from the AppleTV 4K in the lounge. Need to ensure it is set to not go to sleep
