  • Hi,

I am suppose to work under a static ip environment and I was not sure whether this adapter can be configured.

Before plugging in the adapter, there won't be any sign of "Ethernet" network to configure. However, when I plugged it in, it showed and allowing me to configure to my preference.:)

Currently I have no issue with this adapter and using it frequently to test and configure ethernet network.:)

  • Not 100% sure what you're asking.

If you need a static IP address, the thunderbolt to gigabit Enet adapter has a static MAC address which can be provided to your IT department (so they can assign a static IP that maps to your MAC address) or added to your home router. (System Preferences/Network/select TB-Enet/click "Advanced" button/click "Hardware" and MAC address can be selected and copied)
