Mac OS X Server Support

The AppleCare Professional Mac OS X Server Series provides convenient, toll-free, priority access to senior Apple technical support representatives.

Built-in Support

Customers who purchase Mac OS X Server software receive round-the-clock access to web-based support through Apple's Mac OS X Server support web site, the Tech Info Library (TIL) and Tech Exchange.



Mac OS X Server Support Options

  • Australia
    AppleCare Professional Mac OS X Server Series products can be purchased directly from Apple by calling 133 622 (press 2 for Tech Support, then 2 for incident* registration).
    Options include:

    Hours of operation: Monday to Friday, 9am to 9pm; Saturday 12pm to 6pm (AEST)

*An incident is defined as a question relating to a specific, discrete issue that can be answered by isolating its origin to a single cause. Some incidents may require more than one phone call to reach resoltuion. Customers have up to 12 months to use incidents purchased through any of the services.

The scope of support for all fee-based options includes:

  • installation: drive preparation, partitioning, customised installation, reinstallation, installing Apple-provided upgrades and setup assistants (where applicable)
  • configuration: hardware configuration
  • software troubleshooting: boot or network failure diagnosis
  • recovery

AppleCare Professional Mac OS X Server Series agreements are not constrained through the identification of specific customer contacts or by the number of servers they manage. The agreement expires at the end of one year or when the maximum number of support incidents has been reached, whichever comes first.

All fee-based support options include support for:

  • Apple File Services
  • Apache Group's Apache Web Server
  • WebObjects 4.0 Developer (installation only)
  • NetBoot Server and Macintosh Manager Server

Scope of support for Mac OS X Server does NOT include:

  • QuickTime 4.0 Streaming Server (preview version)
  • Training
  • Consulting
  • Network design
  • Compiling - developer support
  • Scripting (shell, perl, TCL/Tk, etc.)
  • Usage or troubleshooting of third-party software and hardware products, even if bundled with the sale of Apple hardware or software
