  • Overview

The Beddit 3 Sleep Tracker automatically tracks your sleep and works with the Beddit app on your iPhone or iPad to help you achieve better sleep. Unlike activity trackers, Beddit is completely ambient so there’s no need to wear or charge it. The thin, flexible and soft sensor is unnoticeable when placed under the sheet on top of the mattress. It senses and automatically begins tracking when you lie down on the bed — collecting and analysing sleep-related data such as sleep time and efficiency, heart rate, respiration, temperature, movement, snoring, room temperature and room humidity.

    Understand your sleep patterns better

The Beddit app delivers personalised insights and customisable sleep coaching to help you improve your sleep. In addition, the Beddit Smart Alarm provides the most accurate method of detecting the optimal time to awaken you from sleep.

    How it works

Beddit technology is based upon a scientific principle known as ballistocardiography (BCG), an unobtrusive, non-invasive technique for measuring the mechanical activity of the heart, lungs and other body functions. Each time the heart beats, the acceleration of blood through the circulatory system generates a mechanical impulse that can be measured and analysed. Throughout the night, Beddit tracks each individual heartbeat and respiration cycle. Beddit’s advanced analysis and machine-learning algorithms adapt differently to each body type and provide detailed sleep data.

    Highlights

Automatically tracks sleep as well as heart rate, average resting heart rate, respiration, movement and snoring

Thin, flexible, soft sensor is undetectable when placed under the sheet on top of the mattress

No need to wear anything like activity trackers, sensors or other gadgets

Beddit Sleep Score combines sleep quality and sleep quantity data into one easy-to-understand number

    Tracks room temperature and humidity

Works on any bed, any size mattress, and with one or two people in the bed (requires two sensors for tracking two people)

The sensor is removable for travel

Works with Apple Watch to deliver Sleep Score every morning, and track a nap if the Sleep Score was too low

Delivers sleep data to Apple Health app

      It works!

I use this in conjunction with a CPAP and have found it to be quite accurate. My sleep quality always registers higher when I use my CPAP vs when I don't. Also, not having one more thing to wear while I'm asleep is a huge bonus.

      Big improvement over Beddit 2

I liked the app, and it was great not having to wear anything while sleeping. However, the adhesive on the beddit 2’s sensor eventually started losing its tackiness. When I saw that the Beddit 3 no longer used adhesive with its sensor, it was an instant buy for me. I have been using it for a month now and love it.

It was simple to set up, jut put it on your mattress at chest height and plug it in, connect with your Beddit app and off you go. The detail of information is very good, but it is also easy to check things at a glance. It shows you your different levels of sleep, your heart rate, breathing rate, temperature and humidity of the room. And it can detect snoring with the app. The automatic sleep detection is very useful, you don't have to remember anything when you go to bed. Just hop in and fall to sleep.

      Does NOT Deliver on Promises

I have used the Beddit and Beddit 2 and they worked great. The Beddit 3 works less than half the time. It won't detect me even being in the bed most of the time I have used the Beddit and Beddit 2 and they worked great. The Beddit 3 works less than half the time. It won't detect me even being in the bed most of the time or it doesn't detect me until the night is half over. I've complained to customer service a number of times and always get a different response. Most recently they admitted this was a known issue but that a future firmware update was going to fix it. The update came and the problem continues. I would give this device negative stars if it was possible and customer service is so poor that the company shouldn't even continue to exist. Try a different brand and save yourself the headache.

      Lasted 1 month

Worked well for a month, then deteriorated quickly. First it started saying things like it took me 8 minutes to fall asleep and immediately after falling asleep Worked well for a month, then deteriorated quickly. First it started saying things like it took me 8 minutes to fall asleep and immediately after falling asleep i left my bed for an hour and a half. To put this in perspective i have a single bed and there isnt a feasible way for me to sleep on it without being over the sensor! Then it started saying that id snore 95% of the night one night and 0% the next, heart rate graph shows just one point for an entire 8 hours of sleep. Now it doesnt show the heart rate graph at all, nor does it add any record of heart rate to apple health. It also says that i've slept with 100 percent efficiency when id actually got out of bed stopped my alarm, gone to the toilet then went back to bed, this seemingly didn't register and yet it'll randomly say i left my bed for an hour in the middle of the night. The few times it does produce a heart rate reading its around 40-60 bpm difference from my apple watch (whether that speaks of the watch's accuracy or this device i don't know) Therefore the main issue is you can't rely on a single one of the metrics being valid. I may as well just write down how much i guess i slept when i wake up as it'll probably be just as accurate. If it was consistent in its errors at least you could ignore them but its seemingly random on what its going to get wrong each night. Instead of seeing the unit costing 129.99 think of it as 129.99 a month as that appears to be how long the device lasts. there's a sleep app on the app that's like £5, it doesnt have automatic measurement but it worked for an entire year last year and works out 26 times cheaper and infinitely more accurate. Also the automatic measurement on the beddit sometimes still thinks im in bed when im in the car driving to work 45 minutes after leaving my bed. I would say i have a defective device but it worked well for a month before being completely useless.

Inaccurate and will not allow you to use Bluetooth headphones

Because I know for a fact that I woke up, left my bed, and returned four times during the night. In the morning it only recorded one time away from bed.... one out of four in my opinion is a failure. Also, I like to listen to white noise through my Bluetooth headphones when I cannot sleep. While the app is running, manadatory for it to work, you use Bluetooth headphones.
