Not everyone will enjoy its features and there are quite a few great written reviews and videos you can search online to give you the complete skinny on it. But, I wanted to weigh in here on why it is a a PERFECT fit for me. I can only drink a couple of cups of coffee a day, and it is my favorite way to relax in the morning, and again in the early afternoon. But, Life happens and before Ember came into my life I was constantly reheating the coffee to make it hot. Believe me this was a pain, because often I got distracted and left it there all day... never getting my full cup. Not anymore! Keeps my coffee where I set it at 143 degrees for an hour if I want. The cup size is fine for my smaller hand, but a bigger person/hand might find it a less comfortable mug to hold. What a great way to spend my morning! "Good to the Last Drop"

It will register the temperature of the coffee when you first pour it in and my Cuisinart coffeemaker brews to 165 degrees according to the Ember app. But its downhill from there. The temperature drops and 145 becomes the max. Plus that temperature only seems to be at the bottom of the mug. The top cools down. It is also a small mug. If you like a large cup, look elsewhere.

      Perfect for what I needed

Its really nice to have hot fresh coffee from the first to the last taste. It does that perfectly for me. I would recommend. Be aware of the detail though, i Its really nice to have hot fresh coffee from the first to the last taste. It does that perfectly for me. I would recommend. Be aware of the detail though, it does only heat to 145F, for me that is fine I set it at 140F for a great cup which is hot from start to finish. When wondering around with my cup of coffee be aware that the battery life (used when not on coaster) has limitations at 140F, not sure how long but check the details (maybe up to an hour, guessing here), for me though it is long enough. If you want longer time on battery go for the travel mug option also sold here. 4 stars because of battery life limit. This mug looks nice, sits on my desk and does what I need it to do.

I reached out to ember with a picture of the depressed pins and got a response within a few days. They said they would be mailing me a new coaster but that they were back ordered. Over 1 month later I received my new coaster. Now I find myself constantly making sure the new coaster isn’t broken too. The battery life is t the best but the mug does the job....most of the time.

Without battery life it's just a cup!

Nice idea... nice shape and feel. But no battery life worth the idea. You may get two hours of temperature at 120, if you're lucky. Obviously, this is not Nice idea... nice shape and feel. But no battery life worth the idea. You may get two hours of temperature at 120, if you're lucky. Obviously, this is not enough. I sit at the desk for much longer than that on my days off. Without better battery technology it's a waste of money. You get one heating out of it and then the battery needs recharging.

I have always put water in my coffee mug and heated it in the microwave prior to adding my coffee in order to keep the coffee warmer longer. This sort of solves that, however it almost needs a stir bar or warming in the sides of the cup. Because the liquid close to the bottom stays up to temperature but the longer it sits there gets to be a gradient of temperatures throughout the mug. Bottom hot, top cool. middle staying slightly warmer.
