      Powerbeats3 initial thoughts

Great sound and RIDICULOUS bass. The bass is so heavy that I actually had to turn it down in my equalizer settings so that it wouldn't overpower the rest of the Great sound and RIDICULOUS bass. The bass is so heavy that I actually had to turn it down in my equalizer settings so that it wouldn't overpower the rest of the music. I don't see this as a bad thing because headphones have traditionally had sub-par bass. They fit well, don't come off during activities like running or lifting, and pair really easily. My only complaint is that the rubber case that comes with them seems cheap and isn't very sturdy. It's tough to quickly put the headphones away in that case and it doesn't seem to provide much protection from the headphones getting squished. Luckily I kept my case from my dead Powerbeats2 because I'll be using it for these now.

My impressions: Cons: -Carrying case isn't as nice as the 2's. Seems Apple cut back, will be using my PB2's case. -No charge port cover. Worried sweat will get in it Pros: - I actually like the sound quality compared to the 2's. It does emphasis the high end MORE than the 2's. Gives it a better sound balance -Key travel is better on the remote -Pairing is simpler. Not that it was hard before. -#1 improvement, and why I purchased them... battery life!

I have a pair of the Studio Wireless and the Pros. I love both of them. The Pros provide a more true-to-life, flat sound, and the Studio Wireless enhance the sound a little bit, but both are excellent. These Powerbeats3's however, are awful. The treble and mid range is so thin and sounds over compressed. The bass is boomy and too overpowering. Don't get me wrong, I like a little bit of boosted bass in my music or in my car, but the bass on these is just far too much. I tried every ear tip provided, and even the better fitting medium size didn't improve the sound quality at all. The pairing feature is kind of cool, but once you've paired them with your device, it doesn't do a whole lot that other bluetooth headphones wouldn't already do... So many better headphones out there for the price. Don't get these.

      Poor quality and awful battery.

The battery life is barely 90 minutes from a full charge, which isn't the end of the world, but is a lot worse than advertised. On the 3rd day they lost their connection to the iPhone and it could take 15 or 20 minutes to re-pair them. It wasn't the phone at fault as it was connection fine with other bluetooth speakers and devices. Then the left earpiece stopped working completely. The guy at the Apple retailer asked me if they were water damaged! They are designed to be used during activities, so I would presume they are sweat proof and I had worn my €15 cheap Chinese pair in the rain for months with no issue. Then of course they wouldn't take them in as I didn't have the receipt (most people don't include the receipt with the present) so they are now just binned. I'm back to using my cheap pair off of ebay and yes they are wired, but they work after getting sweaty and to be honest have far superior sound quality/bass as well. Really disappointing product, second pair of beats (Had the Dre ones from about 4 years ago) and both were really sub standard for the cost. I will certainly be avoiding beats going forward.

      Garbage..Don't Waste Your Money...

Ever since Apple took over Dre Beats they have turned into over priced pieces of garbage. I have had the privilege of having three different pairs fail on me. I Ever since Apple took over Dre Beats they have turned into over priced pieces of garbage. I have had the privilege of having three different pairs fail on me. I will never buy another one of these products again, the return service is horrible and such a pain. Take my advice and buy the Bose headphones or a cheap pair of whatevers, they will break on you far less than the power beats 3's....
