      Better than Bose

In my experience the QC35's ANC is eliminating more noise immediately after being turned on, while the Beats ANC is supposed to be adaptive. - They both have similar controls on the headset but Beats also allow you to toggle ANC on and off. - You configure the Bose headphones through an app. The Beats are completely integrated with iOS like the AirPods. - Both have similar build quality. The Beats look better but The QC35's offer slightly better comfort. I noticed some ear/top of head pressure with the Beats. In short: I prefer the Beats.

Great sound with some mismatched accessories.

The new Beats (after a long break in) sound pretty much like the gen 2’s but the ANC actually works. It’s not as good as the Bose or the Sony but it’s pretty good in most environments. Personally, I think the Beats has the best sounds for the wide variety of music that I listen to and I do like a lot of bass to come through in my home and mobile audio set ups. Since I like the sound of the Beats the most, I can give up a little ANC here and there. One of my tests is vacuuming the floors. In the past, I could never use my beats, I’d have to use the Bose QC’s but now, I can use the Studio3! They are 85% of the Bose but close enough to listen to music with the vac wailing away. Something I find maddening is that Beats provides us with a headphone cord that has a 90º angle where it plugs into the source. Well, since we have to use the idiotic lightning to 3.5mm dongle with the 90º plug the two shapes fight with each other (SJ could have never allowed such a mismatch!) To solve it, I got a straight cord, with iPhone controls from another retailer. Another irritant is that there is barely enough room in the egg shell case to hold a charging and 3.5mm cord. All my other headphones come with some form of cable management pocket, not the Beats (old or new versions). I was hoping that they would add that. I do like the fast fuel, it works as promised. Another dislike is the depth of the ear cups. They are so shallow that my small ears touch the inside! Back to the sound, it’s rich and full with deep, but not ridiculous, bass. I could go on and on but if you like the sound profile of the Beats, get the Studio3. The ANC actually works this time around!!

      Great Headphones

I had the original Beats Studio, the big and bulky silver ones with the red wire, and I liked them a lot. Great for studying in college and what not. However, n I had the original Beats Studio, the big and bulky silver ones with the red wire, and I liked them a lot. Great for studying in college and what not. However, not great for moving around because of the wire. These new Beats are better in every conceivable way. If you are a member of the Apple ecosystem like myself, they are a no-brainer. They connect seamlessly to all your devices, sound great, and have super intuitive controls on the side of the headphones. I can't compare sound quality or noise cancelling to Bose or Sony, but I take the bus to work every morning and the ANC really drowns out the noise incredibly effectively. One final note, the bass on the older versions of the Beats was very loud and bulky, and made even little things like listening to podcasts a little uncomfortable. The sound balance on these is wonderful.

Although the Studio3 don't excel in any category, they offer a very well rounded experience. For example: - Bose offers better noice cancelling - Sony offers better sound - Sennheiser is a lot more comfortable and offers better sound too BUT when you add the W1 chip, they're knock out all of the competition as it works so seamlessly (assuming you use it with an Apple product). My only problem with the headphones is that they could get uncomfortable after a few hours of wear (especially on the crown of the head). Once Beats reduce the weight of these headphones and add more cushion for the head, that would make these headphones a 5/5.

Now these studio 3's have topped many that i have tried. noise canceling is very good, only ever known this type of noise canceling on aircraft headsets. sound quality is the best I've ever had, battery time is extremely good, comfortable to use for hours on end and unlike many other wireless cans theres no blindingly bright flashing lights lighting up the place like a lighthouse. only con i can think of is mabe apple will introduce a lightening connection of future versions. overall rating 9/10 (would give it a 10 if a lighting connection was there)
