  • Overview

Now in a space grey finish. Magic Trackpad 2 has a rechargeable built-in battery and brings Force Touch to the desktop for the first time. Four force sensors underneath the trackpad surface allow you to click anywhere, and they detect subtle differences in the amount of pressure you apply. This brings increased functionality to your fingertips and enables a deeper connection with your content. Magic Trackpad 2 also features an edge-to-edge glass surface area that is nearly 30 per cent larger than the previous trackpad. This design, along with a lower profile, makes scrolling and swiping through your favourite content more productive and comfortable than ever.

Magic Trackpad 2 pairs automatically with your Mac, so you can get to work straight away. And the battery will power your Magic Trackpad 2 for about a month or more before needing a recharge.

It's a good size, too — plenty of space to work with on the trackpad, but it doesn't take up too much space on my desk. I've been using it for about three months. Unfortunately, the bluetooth connection has gotten very spotty in the last month or so (even with literally nothing but 18 inches of air between the trackpad and the computer). Typically, when my 2018 iMac wakes from sleep, the Apple bluetooth keyboard connects but this trackpad does not — despite being charged and switched on. The bluetooth utility searches and searches, eventually finds the trackpad, but fails to connect for reasons that are not clear. Sometimes, it drops the bluetooth connection to the keyboard, but that is less frequent and it seems to pick that up again fairly quickly. I think this problem is linked to a software update, so hopefully Apple will fix it in the future. Most of the time, I have to plug in the trackpad to use it at all, which is disappointing for a product that is supposed to be wireless. On balance, then, I'd say it's way overpriced for a wired device. Don't buy it until Apple fixes its bluetooth connectivity problems.

      Love the Magic Trackpad!!!!

I will never go back to a mouse. I use Apple pro apps a lot (FCPX, Motion, LPX, Compressor) and love working with the Magic Trackpad 2 with these. Speed, accu I will never go back to a mouse. Very Jumpy at Times

Upgraded my MacBook Pro and Keyboard/Mouse recent moving from 2013 MacBook Pro with MTP1 to 2019 MBP with MTP2. This trackpad regularly gets jumpy and difficult Upgraded my MacBook Pro and Keyboard/Mouse recent moving from 2013 MacBook Pro with MTP1 to 2019 MBP with MTP2. This trackpad regularly gets jumpy and difficult to control when my MBP is plugged in and connected to a monitor. The built-in trackpad work fine in these times the MTP2 is jumpy. This occurs even when the battery of the trackpad is full. Considering I never had ANY issues with the previous MBP and MTP1 combination, this is very disappointing.

      Disappointing

I want to like this trackpad and I was excited to get it since it's rechargeable and very sleak looking. But it's very hard to control. It seems to have a mind I want to like this trackpad and I was excited to get it since it's rechargeable and very sleak looking. But it's very hard to control. It seems to have a mind of its own sometimes and will 'click' when I'm not clicking. I've actually gone back to using my old trackpad which is much more precise and reliable.

BAD REVIEWS ARE EITHER PLANTS OR ???

I've been using a track pad since they were introduced. If anything this may be a tad bit better. But hard to say as I discern very little difference. So I simp I've been using a track pad since they were introduced. If anything this may be a tad bit better. But hard to say as I discern very little difference. So I simply don't get some of the hysterical rants I read. Only reason I have one is I have neck problems and my doc recommended elevating my screen. Trackpad works just fine.
