Can I use iPad Pro microphone input with Logitech Slim Combo keyboard?

I have an iPad Pro with the Logitech Slim-Combo keyboard. As a keyboard, it works fine, and I am generally satisfied.

However, I like to use voice dictation when answering emails, making Notes, etc. There is no way I can see to activate the microphone from the Slim Combo keyboard, and if I bring up the iPad on-screen keyboard, the microphone selection is not there... it only shows up if I detach the iPad from the Slim Combo keyboard, which kind of defeats the purpose.

Am I missing something?

  • I have the same question. But a workaround is to open the virtual keyboard by pressing the keyboard “hot key” (above the 4 key). The mic is shown there by the space bar.

  • Hello Joseph P,

Thanks for the feedback. However, my problem was that (sometimes) the microphone option would not show up even when I did as you suggest.

Fortunately, it seemed to be only an intermittent problem, and usually (maybe after restarting the application of interest (e.g. Notes) it would suddenly start appearing again.

But thanks again for your response.
