is the plug compatible in nz?
Would I have to get an adapter for the wall is it compatible with New Zealand power sockets?

Answer
Yes. When you purchase from the New Zealand Apple Store, you receive your countries wall plug specifications. So if you buy this, you'll receive the correct one for New Zealand. Alternatively, Apple has a return/refund policy if it does not match the description. You can find this on the apple website. However, I purchased this and was happy that it was the NZ plug.
