Has anyone tried this adapter (or the similar VGA adapter) with an Android phone or tablet with USB-C connector?

I'd like to be able to have my Android phone being charged while having it connected to an external USB device that can't charge it (like an external disk or other peripheral). I realize that it's very unlikely that the video port could work, since that would require a specific driver in the phone/tablet, and I don't need that. But if this adapter could provide a standard USB port while allowing charging, that would be very useful.

Does the USB port pass through the DisplaPort signal?

USB-A to to DisplayPort adapter cables are now available, but the only thing standing in the way of using a mix of third-party solutions to connect the new USB-C Macbook to a DisplayPort external display is the lack of a splitter cable. In other words, you can connect to USB-A devices and DisplayPort-enabled displays from the single USB-C port, but you can't charge the laptop at the same time. If this accessory passes-through the DisplayPort signal to the USB-A port, then the Startech USB-A to DisplayPort adapter cable would enable simultaneous external display and charging.

Would it work if i reverse it?

So i plug the male end of the adaptor to the USB-C charger i got with my macbook and then be able to plug a USB-C cable into the female port and plug a lightning cable into the USB port and be able to charge my iPhone and Macbook at the same time ?

Can I play dvd or gaming consoles using the USB-C digital multiport adapter

My question is on a 2018 MacBook Pro with 4 USB-c ports, using this said adapter can I use the HDMI port as an input for a dvd or gaming console ? Or is it only HDMI output for external display.

Can we use the USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter to connect USB peripherals like hubs, Ethernet adapters, audio/MIDI interfaces?

I used the lithgning to USB 3 camera adapter to connect audio interfaces/midi devices such Yamaha keyboards to the iPad Pro 9.7”. I would like to change to the new iPad Pro 11” and still be able to keep using my music apps with the keyboard

can i connect this adapter with the other USB-C in cascade? so that i will have 2 screens and 2 USB available while still charging?

In other words, if I were to purchase this adapter, would that allow me to, for example, charge an iphone and transfer from a thumb drive simultaneously?
