Does this have to be plugged directly into the Mac, or can it be on a network, or both?
Ideal for our use would be a local Thunderbolt connection to a workstation and network connectivity for archiving data from other machines. Is that possible?

How do I use this with AirPort wifi and Time Machine?
Will I be able to wifi from my computers into Airport then - and how do I do this - into the store of the Promise Pegasus3 R4 12TB and then get it back if I need to?

Can this be connected to a Mac with 1st Gen Thunderbolt (using the adapter)?
From the description we can be sure that it is backwards compatible with Thunderbolt 2, but how about Thunderbolt 1? Has anyone tried this?
