yes the 1st gen. pencil works on the ipad mini5
No it only works on iPads, currently no support for iPhones as of yet
Yes.
Yes. The Apple Pencil uses Bluetooth to connect with your iPad, and the iPad can connect multiple Bluetooth devices at the same time.
Yes it will work with any screen protector
Yes you can. I even use it to make notes over top of excel and spread sheets I created.
Apple, unfortunatly, does not offer engraving for the 1st gen pencil, however, they do on the 2nd gen, so if you have one of the new iPad Pro models, you are in luck, but otherwise, you can't get an engraving. Sorry.
Sometimes, but it does not work with 5th generation iPad in the past year... It only works with 6th Generation iPad in this year...
The Apple Pencil is covered by Apple's 1 year limited warranty for accessories.

Yes, the iPad Pro has palm rejection. This won't be an issue.
Yes, the new iPad 7th generation is compatible with the Apple Pencil 1st generation.
You can check the compatibility of the pencil on the Apple website by clicking on iPad, then click on Apple Pencil, then scroll down across the page until you find, find the right Apple Pencil for your iPad. There you’ll see that the 7th generation iPad is compatible with the 1st generation of Apple Pencil.
Yes and it is awkwardly charged by unscrewing the cap from the top of the pencil and sticking that in the lighting port of you iPad pro
What is the round bit at the top of the pencil for ? Is it an erasure?
I think it is just for covering the charger area so it doesn’t break off or anything
Nope. Just tried it
