AnswerThe difference in size is within the tolerance of what the cases fit.
The difference in height & width is 0.2mm which is ~8/1000 of an inch, or about the thickness of 2 human hairs.- Answered by Franz D from Durham

Will this case protect the phone if dropped?

AnswerI dropped my iPhone 7Plus from about pocket height in a parking lot and it hit at the bottom corner and bounced. The phone was protected, however the case ripped at the impact points and was also scuffed and I discontinued use just because it looked bad.
I did have a screen protector as well so not sure how much protection you will have with just the case should it fall face forward.- Answered by Chris O from San Antonio
