Great looks but cost me Apple Pencil tips...

    • Written by Michael S from Laguna Niguel

The pencil holder is too big for the Apple Pencil, as it slides out and breaks the pencil tip when it falls.
Quality cover and no issues with holding the iPad in place.
The pocket is essentially useless as it can hold at most a few notecards.
Loved it the first week, looking for a replacement after two months.

    0-stars, do not buy.

The plastic which holds the iPad in place is cracking and falling apart after less than a year of light use. Would give 0-stars if possible.

    Not good for the price.

    • Written by Cara L from Rochester

I haven't even had this case for a year, and it already has so many problems.
1.) The hard shell case inside - after frequent use of pressing the power & volume buttons, the case is cracked and falling apart.
2.) The elastic bands - the Pencil falls right out of it because the elastic quickly loosened, within weeks of use.
3.) The interior - I sometimes bring this in the kitchen to watch videos while cooking. The inside fabric gets super oily and dirty and I don't know how to clean it.
4.) The ability for the iPad to "stand" - You can only keep the iPad in one "standing" position, or it'll fall or slide down.
For what I paid for this, it's a really disappointing product, especially because it's officially branded.

    Moleskine Case poor quality

    • Written by Dennis C from Birmingham

My wife got this case for me along with a new iPad because my seven year old Merkury case was looking pretty rough around the edges. She wanted the best for me and the Apple rep suggested this one. I was a little disappointed that I had to stand it up almost vertically to keep the iPad from sliding down but I could deal with that. Then after only a few weeks the corners of the holder itself started breaking off until the iPad itself was slipping out. It’s never left the house and never been dropped. This is the worst made product you can imagine and not cheap. Very disappointed and will never buy anything else with Moleskine on it.

Choose The Case You Want in 10 Months

    • Written by Andrew F from Point Cook

Worst case I’ve had, only lasted a couple of months before the plastic cracked around button and the edges, and the elastic pencil holder become so lose you end up having to keep the pencil somewhere more safe.

The moleskine case does look great but the material is just terrible. I dropped this case once from 1 meter and there were cracks on the case, which is plastic everywhere! I payed so much money for a good looking plastic case. If I dropped this case screen first, it defidently would crack. The case is too small and it fits behind the screen so if I drop my iPad, the screen will break. I will never buy this case ever again.

Complete waste of Money - Falls Apart

    • Written by Noah K from Somerville

Like many other reviewers here, I would strongly recommend NOT BUYING this cover. Within four months the plastic tray had fallen apart at the corners, so it no longer holds my iPad securely. It’s too bad that the plastic used for the tray is so weak and not durable. Would NOT recommend.

Misses the mark. Nowhere near worth the money.

    • Written by Aaron R from Portland

I've gone through two of these cases, both plagued by the same problem. The tray that holds the iPad is poorly-designed and too brittle, and within 2-3 months, begins cracking. Six months in, there are pieces missing around the edges as cracks meet and chunks fall off. I got one replaced by Apple and was told fairly sternly not to ask again. Moleskine hasn't been responsive on getting this second one resolved, and I'm giving up on them.

Shame, really, as the exterior of the case is perfect. High quality leather and a good feel in your hand. But the most important part of the case is just a very poor quality product.

    Very disappointing

    • Written by Emma P from Scunthorpe

Expected a high quality product that would last the life of my new iPad Pro. Sadly this isn't the case. Less than 6 months on, three of the four corners on the case have cracked so my iPad is no longer securely protected.
Other negatives - the inside surface doesn't grip the iPad strongly enough to stop it slipping down when trying to use it at an angle. The pencil loop isn't tight enough to stop the pencil falling out of it so you are at risk of losing it.

    Poorly designed

    • Written by Juan D from Gijón

Apple Pencil holder is too big and it slides down, rendering the accessory useless because it is made for thick regular pens such as the Moleskine pencil (not a nice move).

The iPad edges are popping out of the inner hard case, so better watch for those accidental drops with the case opened or your screen will suffer.

What's even worse, after two weeks of use the top leather cover slides out of the ipad, so the inlay magnet is not aligned with the ipad edge so it will not awake and sleep automatically, like with any other cheap cover.

On the plus side it really looks ellegant and "cool"... But definitely NOT for $100.

Moleskine, please spend some time testing your products before you put them out on the market. This is NOT a regular paper notebook.

    Plastic holder broke first week

    • Written by Matt H from St. Paul

Flimsy plastic holder that the iPad snaps into. The 3rd or 4th time I removed the iPad, the corner of the holder broke off. Had to argue at the Apple Store where I brought it to get them to exchange it. ("Its not our product"). Way overpriced!

    Get's job done

    • Written by William K from Woodbridge

Overall, I am happy to have a beautiful case that keeps my iPad protected. I mainly use my iPad for drawing and watching TV and movies. I like that I can safely store it in my bag and that is looks great when I carry it in my hand. It has a pencil holder which holds my pencil well. All in all, I would recommend this to a friend looking for something with a pencil holder, protective casing, and a professional look. However, if you want to be able to use the smart connector or view at many different angles you might want to look else where.

    -pencil holder
    -pretty, leather, professional
    -protective on front and back
-can easily turn volume up down, screen on and off
-sits pretty well on lap for viewing
    -case fits well

-Not enough viewing angles possible. If the iPad makes too sharp of angle with surface it slips. (note: I added a 2 rubber bands running diagonal to add more viewing angles, not very pretty, but gets the job done)
-pencil is on the "binding", can be hard to accessed
-can be a bit clunky when holding your ipad in portrait, maybe this is just the nature of an ipad

If moleskine is reading this, I would have loved divots in the inner-non-ipad side to allow 2 more viewing angles. An acute angle(w/ surface) is very nice to draw on and type, I achieve this with rubber bands but it ruins the aesthetic.

    A beautiful product

    • Written by Suryacitta S from Newtown Linford

This is a really lovely case for the iPad Pro. I was a little nervous when ordering as ordered online. However, I was stunned by it. Lovely to look at, gorgeous to feel and very well made. There is a pencil holder which actually works and stands in a variety of positions for typing and watching the iPad. A quality product.

    Almost a great case

    • Written by Oliver W from Carshalton Beeches

I love moleskin cases and equally the apple iPad Pro which is why I purchased both items. In the picture it shows the Apple Pencil sitting perfectly in the case, however the reality is very different. Everything is perfect but how can such an obvious design flaw be made where the pencil holder is too big for the pencil. It literally slides straight through it.

It is elasticated as well so why not make it a tight fit especially when it is holding a £100 pencil.

    Do not buy

    • Written by Dustin E from Brooklyn

The pencil holder is oversized so that the pencil keeps falling out.
The case has a smart connector spot but because of the cases thickness it won't connect to anything making it useless.
The quality of the case itself is good other than it looks like they took 2 minutes designing without actually using it first.
Because I liked the quality of the cover, I took off the iPad holder part and glued on an apple silicone case which makes it perfect (other than pencil holder being too big).

    Misses The Mark

    • Written by Jason S from Portland

On paper, this looked like a great iPad case, but for $99 you'll find many of the subtle qualities of high-quality iPad cases have been completely ignored. The case has a hard time holding the iPad snug with edges popping out, it doesn't stay stable in A-frame mode, the pen holder is too loose and the button cut-outs on the side make it hard to access power/volume controls. On the plus side, the case looks nice and professional, and there's a cut-out for the camera. Simply not worth $100
