    Many and constant error messages

Purchased the product together with my Macbook Pro 2018. I have constantly error messages popping up.
    For example:
"Disconnect USB devices, power consumption too high" I have 3 USB devices connected; Belkin iPhone charger, Apple Watch Charger, and a External HD with own Power connection. I'm using the Belkin Hub to charge my MAcBook.
"unsafe USB device disconnect..." Seems that the hub disconnects USB devices intermittently und this causes the error.
Since one of the devices is a external HD, I'm afraid it might causes damage.
I think I have to return the product.

    Rip off

I am experiencing the common problem that doesn’t have a solution. Screen goes black intermittently and I have to wait about 5 seconds for the picture to reappear on the monitor. I expect more for $350

Works great with my 4K Display (Dell P2715Q)

I'm on macOS Mojave Public Beta 7 (2018 15" MBP) and I've had no problems running my Dell P2715Q 4K display at 60hz. Connects every time after waking from sleep, no glitches. Dropped a star because it's so expensive but if you want full charging power to the MBP then there's not many alternatives. Maybe an eGPU could be a better investment but the Belkin T3 Express Dock works as advertised for my setup.

Very sensitive to USB & Thunderbolt issues

Nice looking dock with a good collection of ports and 85W charging over USB C but after all the problems I've had getting it to work, I'm not impressed. Months of crashes came down to problems with the USB C cable delivered with the device, which went away when changing to a higher spec cable. However, the device will still not run two Apple Thunderbolt Displays on a Thunderbolt daisy chain. If they could make this thing stable, it would be a great product. As it is, I cannot recommend it!

    Same old garbage

Ten years on and we still have to put up with this nonsense. Not enough connectivity on Mac laptops and all we have for bridges are these oversized Belkin monstrosities. I don't care about how many monitors it will support. I just need a reasonably sized and priced device that accommodates multiple USBs, thunderbolt and firewire for backwards compatibility for legacy audio gear.

Come on Apple get your act together and give us a decent accessory. Perhaps even different options for different user needs.

    Useless with Pro Tools

Introduces a high-frequency noise into my signal chain the culprit is clearly the expensive Belkin Thunderbolt 3 hub. Only bought the hub because Apple refuses to put HDMI and/or USB ports alongside their T/B 3 ports. The Belkin is in the bin.

Product is unstable. Would be very satisfied if it worked.

The concept is really good, I liked the port combination and the looks.

However for me with my MacbookPro2018 it didn't work. At first the external display attached would flicker/flash every few 10 seconds and when using the dock in clamshell mode, and the flicker would go away if I opened the Macbook display. After few days of use the flicker would persist whether I close the macbook screen or not. The flicker had a chance to go away if I reconnect thunderbolt cable, and the screen flickering would 100% come back if I restart my Macbook. The flicker is completely annoying and random.
I don't like the idea of having to plug and unplug my thunderbolt dock multiple times every time I want to dock my Macbook, for such a premium priced product.

Livid with Apple for Selling this!

Thanks Apple for neglecting to prominently display which of your computers this is compatible with. I bought this at the same time as my new 2018 MacBook and when I tried to connect the two, I got an error. Upon searching the internet for help I found, as many on this site have noted, that the Express Dock is not compatible with the 12' MacBook. Apple, I'm not impressed!

    Sometimes works - sometimes doesnt

I bought this about a year ago. Plugged in everything at the beginning but started having problems thereafter. Started unplugging each accessory until now I’m pretty much just using it for power only. VERY expensive power supply. Wish they had a firmware update or something that would fix it.

    Works perfectly

I was a bit unsure about ordering this dock given the number of negative reviews, but I got it anyway and have no regrets. This thing has been used for 7+ hours a day for the last few weeks, swapping between two MacBook Pros (both 13-inch, 2016, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports models). I've got a monitor connected via DisplayPort, plus Ethernet and a USB keyboard, and have been connecting and disconnecting it all from the MacBooks without any issues. Very happy.

Display port unusable / support non-existent

Display flickers every second or so. Swapped cables, bypassed the dock, and swapped laptops to confirm that the monitor, laptop and cable are good. By process of elimination, Dock is the problem

Contacted support. They gave me a solution that fixed the problem- plug the display direct into your laptop and bypass the dock

    This dock is trouble

I bought this dock as it was a recommended accessory on the Apple site and have had no end of issues. It only connects to my new MacBook Pro (the one with all USB-C ports) only half the time.

I was attracted to the idea of only having one cable to plug/unplug - for me the dock is supposed to run a HD monitor on its DisplayPort, a regular monitor on VGA via a Dock USB-C port and a hardwire network cable. But when connecting each morning the dock is recognised only about half the time which means no connectivity to the peripherals. Nothing I have tried will regularly get the connection - unplugging, repowering the Dock have all been tried. I'm forced to go WiFi and separately plug the USB-C monitor directly to the MacBook. But then half the time it works as its supposed to.

I'm now shopping around for another Dock as this one is too frustrating.

    Almost perfect

I have a Thunderbolt display and a new MacBook Pro with TB3 ports only. Prior to buying this, I had to use the MBP's own power supply and a TB3 to TB2 adapter to use the display. With this, I no longer need the power supply and the TB3 to TB2 is now plugged in permanently. I now only have to plug in one cable to the MBP for both power and connectivity which is exactly how a dock should work.

    The problems are:

There are only two TB3/USB C ports and I am using both - one for the Thunderbolt display and one for the MBP. I now have three spare ports on the MBP but if you only have limited ports on your computer, this would be a problem.

I think the price is a bit high for what you get.

Belkin did no QA on this product

This product is great... in theory. I have 2 4k displays plugged in to this at my desk, and was looking forward to only plugging a single cable into my macbook to dock it. This product not only does not work, but it doesn't even "not work" consistently. Sometimes no displays will work, sometimes on the USBC display will work, other times only the DP display will work. Maybe 1 out of 100 times, both displays will come on and function properly. This is usually after 15-20 minutes of plugging and unplugging the dock every morning. Belkin support does not help. Garbage product.

Don't attempt to use an external screen with hdmi cable

If I use the dock to connect a 32 inch screen in hdmi, every time I plug the dock to the macbook pro it simply freezes the mac. If you plug the hdmi cable directly to the mac, there is no issue. I though that paying such a price for a usb hub would assure me a certain level of quality, this is obviously not the case. Belkin support page for this product has no useful information, the product is old and should have been patched, but no effort is done on this side as well. Take the money and go skiing, it's a better investment.

    Ethernet Port BUGGY!

At startup or reboot the ETHERNET PORT ON THE DOCK DOESN'T ACTIVATE. Reconnecting the plug to the dock doesn't work either - the only solution is to replug it on a switch or router in order to make it work.

BELKIN should get its work done and deliver a firmware update as the ethernet port remains unusable at this point!

These are issues on a CURRENT TOP-OF-THE-LINE 15" MACBOOK PRO and up-to-date High Sierra, and equally occuring on Sierra, as well !

    Compatibility issues

As others have stated before me, this product is NOT compatible with a 12" MacBook (2017). Had I known before I would've saved myself a lot of money. It's absolutely ridiculous that this isn't stated anywhere!

I am not having any issues in the other reviews. It is working great.

I am writing this after reviewing a number of negative reviews. I checked with the company's desk top support team and they have not had any of those issues either. We have ~50 of these deployed I believe.

I have been using the dock at work daily without any of the issues others have run into. I have a dual Dell monitor setup and use the built in monitor. I have one monitor connected by the HDMI slot and the second in a USB-C to DVI adapter. I also use the ethernet and both back USB 3 connections. Add using the second USB-C slot to connect to to the MacBook Pro and I have all the back connectors full. I have used the front connector to hook up a non-apple USB 3 DVD drive. I also use the head phone or speaker jack on the front.

The only problem I have had is it stopped charging the Mac at one point. I power cycled the Belkin Dock and everything was back to normal.

Does not work with Apple products

Let's be clear on this, Apple sells it in their store, does not work with MacBook Pro 2016 or 17 very well at all. If you can get USB-C to USB-C to even recognise the dock, then you may get it working for a while. Try adding a 4k or 5k display, no chance, it just does not work at all.

Who is at fault? Quite clearly Apple. They no longer put in quality control when updating their OS to ensure it works with products they sell in their stores.

Apple rode the Steve Jobs train for a good while, now though we are seeing what this company looks like without a strong man at the top. For me it is no longer buy buy, it is bye bye Apple, you lost a customer!
