    Last iPhone I ever buy

    • Written by Christopher L from York

I was reluctant to upgrade to the 10 specifically because I need to be able to plug in to my car audio AND charge at the same time (need the functionality so I can work on the phone from the car over extended periods). The Apples Sales person convinced me that with this adaptor I could have the best of all worlds. WRONG!

Had I known how unreliable and low quality this product would turn out to be I never would have purchased my new iPhone. Apple screws its customers over in order to make a short term profit by forcing us to purchase non-value added components. No wonder Apple is losing its dominance.

Long time Samsung avoider here, and just bought my first android product. Farewell Apple.

Stopped working after a few months

    • Written by Rebecca M from Scarsdale

This item was recommend to me by a store worker. It worked well at first, until it became very frustrating to use and I had to bend it in a certain way so that the audio connection would stop cutting out. I guarantee that Apple knows they are selling something that doesn’t work because they want you to buy air pods. Don’t give in! Switch to Samsung or something. Or in my case, buy a cheap pair of well-working wireless headphones.

    Awful reviews

    • Written by Muhammad W from Dublin

I was about to buy this but after reading all the reviews I’m not spending €40 for only couple months . Apple need stop collaborating with such company’s n better comes up with there own product which has more reliability

    Works perfectly

    • Written by Iain B from Edinburgh

I was hesitant having read the other low reviews, but it’s worked perfectly for six months for me. I use it in one place only, so I don’t know if moving it around could be the cause of some of the other issues, but for my use case it’s done a great job.

    Come on Apple

    • Written by Noah T from Sonoma

You are forcing us to use this stupid “dongle.” Please at least make the dongle work. Its already an annoying enough thing to force people to buy as it is. I travel a lot and this is the only way I can use my phone on long flights, as well as in my car. To be forced to buy one of these every 2 months because of the pore quality is absurd. Don't give us free U2 albums, make your alternative dongle adaptor work. It is so outrageous. Or Better yet give us back the headphone jack and take a dongle income loss for the sheer joy of your customers. You can return the album back to U2... I just want a working solution.

Stopped working in less than a month

    • Written by Marissa F from Fort Collins

I thought it may be my own car auxiliary port that wasn't working after going through a few of these, but turns out it's just a bad product. REALLY frustrating as I'm on the road a lot and need a charged phone as well as tunes. Worked for a few weeks, then went out. Bought a cheap one off amazon, went out even sooner. Thought about buying this one again but I will absolutely not be spending another 40 bucks on a defective product. Either bring the headphone jack back or make a functioning product that allows us to charge and listen to music at the same time!! We don't all have fancy bluetooth cars and wireless headphones!!!

I would give it a 0 star if I could. I purchased this item at an Apple store. Spent a lot of money. It worked for a few months only. The Belkin company kindly sent me a new one. It too stopped charging after only one month. Very very frustrating!

Worked great for about 2 months...

    • Written by Brett N from Placentia

I just got a iPhone XR and I love the phone but couldn’t charge it and use headphones simultaneously, so I looked and I found this product. It was recommended by the tech support and I bought the expensive one thinking it would last. It did for about 2 months then either stopped charging, my phone gave me a notification saying “This accessory is not supported by this device”, or it would just randomly stop putting audio through my headphones and start using my phone speakers. I use my phone for a bit of gaming and this annoyed me a lot. You would think a 35$ product would last longer than a few months, let alone apple themselves supporting the product and my phone saying it is incompatible. I still like apple products but I wish I did not make this mistake.

It's true--lasts only a couple of months before dying

    • Written by Stephen C from Ottawa

I saw the complaints about this stopping working after a little while and I chalked it up to complaining and whining. However, they're telling the truth. Bought this a couple of months ago. I park in a heated garage so it was OK, but I noticed that if my car is outside in the cold for a while, it wouldn't work until I warmed it up. Now on Saturday, I guess the cold broke it because it's dead. Even warmed up it won't work. So, like everybody else complaining, I have to shell out another $40. This is nuts. I'm going to make sure I don't leave it in the cold anymore.

    Don’t buy it!

    • Written by Bridget A from Truth or Consequences

This product doesn’t work and neither does any product on the market right now. I can’t believe Apple did this and is so irresponsible and responding to getting a working product to its customers. All the hundreds and hundreds of dollars spent on headsets and now I can only listen with a specific one. I have a $350 pair of Boes that I can’t use. Apple makes these changes and expects the market to keep up with whatever they do and sometimes it takes years before that happens all the while the customer is the one who suffers. Get with it Apple, get your customers a product that allows them to charge their phone and listen to their heads sets at the same time!

Does not work...why does Apple sell this?

    • Written by David K from Concord

Wanted to be able to charge iphone XS in car and plug headphone jack into car music system. Charging stopped working in less than a month. Audio connection flaky...sometimes just plays though phone speaker instead of routing to headphone jack. I paid for an expensive adapter thinking it was sanctioned by Apple... I guess I was wrong... don't waste your money

$40 for a Month of use

    • Written by Samantha S from Westland

Bought this with my new iPhone XR to use in my car. I drive a lot so I need to charge my phone so it doesn't get drained from the maps function, and so I can play my own music. It doesn't charge as quickly but I expected that. It makes a buzzing sound when music isn't being played, but I can deal. When it died after about 45 days of use, I was irate. Thankfully (or not?) I'm not the only one who's had this issue. Problem is, this is the only product of its kind and I'm forced to buy another or listen to the radio. Apple, stop forcing us to buy more of your products by removing simple things from your phones.

    Poor Audio Quality.

    • Written by Elvert B from Rio de Janeiro

My iPhone 7 sounds great with its original lighting cable but it sounds poor using the Belkin 3.5 mm Audio + Charge Rockstar. I am a pro musician. Tests were made with hight quality home stereo system and studio pro audio. I will return the product to Apple Store in Rio de Janeiro.

Worked right out of the box

    • Written by Jeff N from Nazareth

I use headphones for hours each day while on business calls and need a way to keep the phone charged. After buying a no-name adapter that did not work on my iPhone8, I checked out this product. I was very apprehensive due to the negative comments, but decided I did not have a better alternative and could always return it to the nearby Apple store if it did not work. I plugged in the adapter, connected the headphones and made a call with no problems. I connected the charger and the phone charged while I talked on the phone. I am very happy. The only reason I did not give it a 5* rating is I'll wait to confirm that it continues to work for at least a year.

    Short life span horrible price

    • Written by Matthew C from Holtsville

It works great for a few months and then breaks. I’ve been through this so many times it’s fristrating. You think after years of them eliminating AUX jacks that they’d at least master an adapter that lets me charge my phone and use headphones. It’s pretty embarrassing. Great way from them to get $35 from you every 4 months.

    Do not buy

    • Written by Cavla J from Lakeland

I purchased this thing about 4 maybe 5 months ago so i could still use my 3.mm ear plugs.. Well it has already started cutting back to the phones audio and i have to unplug each piece to get the playback via the headsets. These things are like $50 bucks to be a piece of junk.

    Too expensive for short life

    • Written by Henry B from Kansas City

This thing worked great...but only for a few months. Then it started to short out and eventually not only ruined the lightning port on my phone but it eventually stopped working altogether. I would buy another one if they weren’t so expensive. For 35 bucks it should last a lot longer than a few months.
