    Inside paint is scaling away

    • Written by Steve F from Bonita Springs

The idea is great and for the most part works well. The battery could/should last longer before needing charging and if the coffee has sat for 20-30 minutes it needs stirring to better equalize the temp from top to bottom. After 12 months I started to see scaling away of the inside coating despite my obsessive careful handwashing. I just emailed Ember Customer Service s let’s see what they do. I also had a defective coaster about 6 months ago which they replaced in 4-5 days.
I would suggest holding off buying one until they make imrovements.

    Great concept, poor execution.

I’ve had my ember mug for about 7 mos. at the 6 Mh tn mark, one of the coaster pins loosened, causing my mug to not charge. I reached out to ember with a picture of the depressed pins and got a response within a few days. They said they would be mailing me a new coaster but that they were back ordered. Over 1 month later I received my new coaster. Now I find myself constantly making sure the new coaster isn’t broken too. The battery life is t the best but the mug does the job....most of the time.

    Great Idea, somewhat poorly executed

    • Written by Nicholas L from Portland

I really liked the idea of this. I have always put water in my coffee mug and heated it in the microwave prior to adding my coffee in order to keep the coffee warmer longer. This sort of solves that, however it almost needs a stir bar or warming in the sides of the cup. Because the liquid close to the bottom stays up to temperature but the longer it sits there gets to be a gradient of temperatures throughout the mug. Bottom hot, top cool. middle staying slightly warmer.

    Forgotten coffee still hot

    • Written by clive M from london

I often make a hot drink and forget to drink it, this definitely helps with that.
A thermal travel mug would I think do just as good a job,but this mug is a lot nicer to drink from.
I found it good to make tea in as it keeps hot wile brewing.
I use it from the recharge saucer and had expected my drinks to be hot consistently this isn’t the case it seams to depend on how full the mug is .
I’ve given it 3 stars mostly because of the software, the mug does what I bought it for.
For me the software is aimed at the American market ( some coffee shops not in the UK) and people traveling with the cup not people making drinks at home
