Horrible device that does not work

NOT Suitable for iPhone XS MAX

    • Written by Gordon M from Hounslow

The iPhone XS MAX will not charge when using this device. It's not fit for purpose.
I will be returning the device to Apple.

    Product itself is great

    • Written by Jordan G from Mississauga

It's a great product. Wirelessly charges my iPhone XS Max with the Apple Leather case no problem. Same with my Apple Watch Series 4. I have a USB-A to USB-C out the back to charge my iPad Pro and it keeps everything compact and organized. One negative I've noticed - if your phone is docked and you say "Hey Siri", the microphone is blocked and Siri cannot hear you well. To solve this, I sometimes dock the phone upside down, 180º, so the microphone is unobstructed. Overall, great product that really suited my needs - and I'm willing to pay for that.

Too expensive for what you get

    • Written by Thomas B from MILPITAS

I really tried to like this 3 in 1 system but I found the phone charging stand to be awkward to get the phone on correctly sometimes, the other issue I had was that they put only a 5w USB A charger on the back, if they would've included perhaps a full power USB A instead or even better, a 18w or 30W USB-C plug instead it would've been a much more useful product. It did work as intended but I was not impressed for how much this costs.

    Looks good, works well.

    • Written by Gareth L from Crowthorne

I've just bought myself an Apple Watch so I wanted a neat solution to charging my iPhone X and my Apple Watch at the same time. This does the job just fine, and looks great (mine's in white) with my Apple Watch 4 with white sports strap (as shown in the product pictures).
Some of the reviews on Amazon for the non-"Apple exclusive" version of this stand mention it making a high pitched noise when the phone is charging - but I've not noticed any noise at a all.
Be aware that the charging plug is quite large, but at least the lead between the charging plug and the stand is longer than the disappointingly short lead that comes in the box with the Apple Watch.
Why not 5 stars ? Well, it is a bit expensive (though got mine for £125 with a discount scheme) and, as seems to be the case with so many charging stands, there's a small LED light which may be annoying when it's used on a bedside table (like mine is) though it is very small and does't light the room up like some other stands I've tried.

    Charger Works Well

    • Written by Charles C from Clifton

I bought the BOOST↑UP at the Apple Store this week after reading the reviews here, and it works seamlessly.

Apropos of some low ratings here, I'll describe what I do: My case is a leather case with the cover, so it's probably too thick for the BOOST↑UP which wants no more than an eighth of an inch separation due to case thickness. So I remove my phone from the case for charging. It's little effort to do so.

Charging my Watch on the same stand is advantageous, of course. Speaking of ease to charge, it's actually much easier to charge the Watch on the BOOST↑UP because you don't have to grab the charging cord, place the charging head on the Watch, and put it somewhere the charging head doesn't slide off. The BOOST↑UP charges quickly but I haven't timed it yet (I should have for this review, but, hey, it works fine :-).

One review here mentioned that the charger base could be slippery. My night stand has a rubbed finish which might have more friction than that of the other reviewer's, but I have no problem with the base's slipping. Keep in mind that you place your Apple devices on the stand from its top, in the vertical direction, so you don't apply sideways force to the stand. There is some mass to the BOOST↑UP; it isn't lightweight that could allow it to move around. But yes, you can apply frictional material to the bottom of the base.

One other issue that some reviewers mention is the price. My argument is that I'm not buying one of these every week, or even every year, and it's something that absolutely has to be functional and be reliable. If cost is a consideration, opt for a charging pad and use the Watch cord charger.

In summary, I highly recommend the BOOST↑UP. It'll sit next to you, easily accessible, organizing the charging of your iPhone and Watch.

Could’ve Been Better for a Belkin

    • Written by D H from South San Francisco

I really wanted to like this charger. If I have to delicately find the right angle or move it by 5cm to get it to ding so I know it’s charging there’s gotta be something wrong with this charger. I’ll give it one star for at least connecting to my watch for charging.

    Great product

    • Written by Rosalia S from San Diego

I just received my dock and so far is works and looks great. I read some reviews before buying and was skeptical since some of them say it does not charge with the phone case on. This product charges my Xs with the lifeproof case on, no issues whatsoever . The only thing I would like to have is the AirPod charger built in as well, luckily it does have an extra USB port built in on the side. Other than that I highly recommend!

    Poor product

    • Written by Eric B from LA MIRADA

The charger does not work properly. Half the time when I take it of the charger either the watch is not charged or the phone is not charged. I must note that my IphoneX has a otter box and my Iwatch4 has a rubber protector on it. I have never had a problem charging my watch with the standard Apple IWatch charger. I would return it, but I did not keep the box(dummy me). The reliability of this product is not what we have been accustomed to from Apple.

Nice stand but only works if phone has no case

    • Written by Robert F from Valdosta

Quality control was asleep when this product was made. If you use a case on iPhone XS Max it will NOT charge unless you put the phone upside down. I can only guess the design is flawed on this product and the wireless charging pad surface is so small that they did not factor in customers using cases. I tried a couple different cases with same result. If they made the charging pad adjustable in height maybe it would work but as is I advise avoiding this product and especially at this price point. Or if you want to use it with case remember to place it on the stand upside down..which is something you shouldn’t have to for $160 charging stand and $1000 plus phone.

Who approved this design to be sold is my burning question?

Watch part works great. There are cheaper and better alternatives.

It works for iPhone XS Max.

    • Written by Lawrence B from Chicago

These reviews would have you believe it will not work with the iPhone XS Max. I was so skeptical that when I purchased it, I set it up in the store just to make sure before I left. It works fine. If you have a case on your phone that can survive a fall from low earth orbit, then no, this probably isn't for you. Lets use logic here people. The contact surface isn't that big. That combined with a huge military grade case would clearly pose a problem. That problem wouldn't just be with this charger, it would probably be with most stand based chargers, if not all wireless chargers in general. I bought the official leather case from Apple and it charges fine with that case on. Two nights in and no problems. Charges my iPhone XS Max & Apple Watch with no problems.

On a side note, I would've given this about 3 stars or simply not reviewed it at all, but I felt compelled to do so to counter the clear consumer ignorance. The 3 stars would've been for the obvious Apple up charge for this. A major competitor of Apple's has a similar charger that's about $70 bucks cheaper. Luckily I had a gift card burning a hole in my pocket.

Will not charge if you have your XS Max in a case

    • Written by Thomas G from Tahlequah

Received as a Christmas gift from my wife. This unit will not charge my iPhone XS Max without removing the case. I have two other wireless chargers, including another "Apple exclusive" Belkin, that have no issue charging with the case installed. Case is an Otterbox Defender, so no metal, magnets, or other interference other than the approximate 4mm separation. I tried with a leather wallet style case with the same result. This absolutely should not be an issue for a $160 premium charging stand.

    A Great Dock!

    • Written by Patrick Y from Aurora

Love this dock charger. I have the XS Max and it charges with no issues. The only thing i would change about this dock is i would move the watch connector a half inch to the right so there would be a little more space between the watch & the phone when both are on the dock. Other than that it is great.

    Great

    • Written by Ben R from Studio City

This charger works very well. It can be used with the new Iphone 2018 series. tt doesn't say on the box but believe me it does work. The only thing wrong with it is a bit expensive. I know it works with the Apple cases, however you might want to test it in the store to see if it works with your case.

Nearly perfect. Easy to make perfect yourself.

    • Written by Michael A from San Jose

Just bought two of these in white. Love them, but not sure why they’re so expensive.

    Pros:

Charge your phone (vertically only) and Apple Watch at the same.
    It looks nice.
No need to fish your charger cable through this. It’s built-in.
Full-power USB-A port hidden on the back to charge AirPods or iPad.
Only requires a single cable (included) to power it. The cable is also designed to appear flush with the device.

    Cons:

    Price.
Slides around. (easily fixed with clear rubber feet available on Amazon)

    Final verdict:

I love these. They’re the best dual-device wireless charges I’ve used and I’ve used many.
The price is high and you need to apply your own rubber feet to keep it from sliding around,
but other than those two flaws, it’s perfect.

I recommend buying the white version. Shiny white shows dust less than shiny black and the
Apple Watch charger on these is white either way. The white charging puck against the black
    looks like a mistake.
