Kinda broken at first, then magically decided to work?

    • Written by Andy C from glen ridge

I was wary of spending $140 on something that might not work well after reading some of these reviews so I purchased this on Amazon with my prime account since it came with free shipping and free returns. I figured worst case scenario I'd send it back. So this is where things get interesting. I unbox everything and connect the watch charger part, plug everything in and put my gen 2 Airpods, iPhone 11 pro and apple watch 4 on the charger. And yes, everything had the lastest OS to date when I'm doing this. So the first thing I noticed was a high pitched whine from the watch charger portion. It was quiet but if you listen closely it was definitely there. The next thing I saw was the watch intermittently charging on and off every few seconds. I was about to get very frustrated and return what I thought was a piece of junk but I decided to play with it a little. I unplugged the cable from the outlet and the charger and flipped the orientation (even though it shouldn't matter). I plugged it back in and everything seemed to start working normally. I'm wondering if some of the negative reviewers here just experienced the same thing I did but gave up. If you run into this issue try taking the watch off and unplugging everything because it might actually fix the issue. I've been playing with it all day and everything still works fine. No strange noises and no charging issues with the watch. And yes, the Airpods and phone portion work perfectly as well, it just seems to be the watch that people are having issues with. I'm keeping an eye on it and if it decides to act all weird again I might send it back but for now, it's behaving so I'm happy with it. Leaving 4 stars because of the price and because it initially was acting strangely.

Works beautifully, I have just one wish for design modification

    • Written by Lisa D from Rancho Cordova

I've never used Mophie products or wireless charging before, and this product has worked beautifully. I really like that all my devices can now sit and charge in one spot at the end of the day without a lot of cord spaghetti. I also like that my AirPods have a home -- they don't go wandering as often as before. The watch stand is sturdy, and the display angle is just fine. I do not have any heat issues as other reviewers have mentioned.

Here's my one-small-detail wish: I would like for the watch stand to truly fit a 40 mm watch case (I have the Apple Watch 4). When I place my watch on the stand, it's not quite large enough to touch the small shelf below the round charger disc, and the face of the watch rotates out of level depending on its whim. Or maybe there is an option to buy a 40 mm stand and I just didn't see it?

Anyway, just be aware of this small detail if you have a 40 mm watch and are picky about such things. I'm very pleased with the product on the whole, and would recommend it.

    So far so good!

I have had amazing luck with this charger and no complaints about it doing what it’s supposed to.

BUT! The engineers at Mophie need to take a second look at this product. This is my first wireless charger. Every picture on the Apple website along with the Mophie directions show the watch sitting crown down. The stand even has a notch for it. Buyers beware!! Nightstand mode does not work crown down. All the images shown in the store and on the paperwork suggest otherwise. I spent some time trying to figure out why this was happening. Finally figured it out after searching it on the web. Mophie...change your pictures!!!! This is misleading to the consumer.

Works great, but one minor complaint

    • Written by Adam R from La Mesa

I bought this to charge my three devices. It is well constructed and easy to assemble. My phone did take a moment to "discover" the wireless charging at first, but it's been fine ever since.

My only gripe is the surface. Why do these sort of products have to have a slick shiny surface? If it were matte instead, my phone in its case would not slip around so easily. I'm guessing the idea is to look more premium, but that can be accomplished by being more premium, not simply trying to look that way. a softer or rubberize surface would have been a lot better in my opinion.

    A good bedside charging solution

    • Written by John K from GLASGOW

I’ve had this charger for a week now. It’s working as expected to date but I’ll update this review should that change.

Lots of talk about build quality, yes it’s largely plastic with a glass top. The Watch puck works flawlessly for me but I would advise when setting this up make sure you give it a wiggle to ensure you hear it click tightly into place. I would not recommend trying to remove it as there is no release mechanism.

The charging coil is localised and when used with my iPhone X it can seem awkward to get it to charge. First off if you lay the iPhone to high on the pad so the camera on the back is clear of the top edge of the pad it may not start charging. If you place the iPhone on the pad with the camera also on the pad the iPhone charges fine but isn’t level and rocks when touched. I found the best way to set the iPhone X was to touch the bottom of the camera edge against the top edge of the charger. The iPhone lies flat and charges every time. It’s easy when you get use to it. The iPhone is gripped by the rubber edge of the charging mat and won’t move even when accidentally knocked. Excellent for a bedside charger

Lastly the lights, I was worried about these as they look large. Well they are but they are also quite dim when they are on. Another great feature for a bedside charger is the lights go off after you dock the iPhone and the AirPods. The light don’t stay on any longer than the screen is active on the iPhone when you first place it on the pad. So no lights to shine on you all night. This was perfect for me.

The AirPods charging spot works well, you can charge them in a protective case if you have one and you can still see the Watch when the AirPods are in place.

So yes this is plastic but it’s a great little charger that’s convenient as all my devices charge overnight on a single device ready for me when I wake up. This is pricey but I feel it’s worth it if you use it as a bedside charger and don’t think it’s going to be indestructible.
