    Ridiculous

    • Written by Sheri M from Park Hall

I bought this charger a few months ago, love that it’s a long cord. All of a sudden it just quit working. There are NO kinks or tears in the cord, it actually still looks brand new. I’ve always read never to use anything but Apple chargers on your iPhone. I never listen which us a good thing! I bought an extra long charger online and it actually works better than the apple charger for at least half the cost and last way longer. I’ve always trusted Apple but no more when it come to chargers.

    iPad Pro/iPhone charger cables

    • Written by donna D from staten island

It’s ridiculous how expensive these cables are and are not even durable. The life on them is about 4 months. They disconnect at the end right after the harder piece of plastic. Apple, l’m beginning to rethink my technical choices ... please improve these cables!

    Great for 9 months

    • Written by Meghan S from Westminster

I ordered this in February of 2018, used it daily, consistently, for about nine months. In mid-November, the thing crashed. It's a cable, so how can it crash? I don't know. All I know, is I would plug it into something, and immediately the port or outlet would stop working. I have a usb-port strip with four ports in it. When it's plugged into the wall, it glows to show it's on and working. As soon as I would plug this cord in, the light would shut off, and the strip would stop charging anything that had been plugged into it. The phone didn't even have to be connected to the cord, it would just shut something off. So, this product was just what a needed--until it died on me.

    Terrible quality

    • Written by Lori H from Indianapolis

I can always depend on my Apple cables to completely fall apart on me at an unbelievably rapid rate. I once watched my MacBook's charging cable catch fire as it was on my lap, so I do not trust my phone cable to remain not on fire once I see it fraying (which is immediately, always). I am constantly replacing them out of an abundance of caution, which is proving to be an expensive activity. I *wish* Apple would use their resources to improve these cables for once. I cannot believe my drug store cables are higher quality than these.

    Slightly disappointed

    • Written by Sandra N from Blue Hills

I bought this long charger thinking it would last me a decent amount of time. I normally buy the 1 metre usb but decided I wanted something longer so I bought the 2 metre and it only lastede 3 months. The metre lasts me up to a year. I don’t think people should buy the 2metre usb.

The worst cable in the market

    • Written by Brayan S from Bogotá

The cable has a good feel in hand, but his quality is the worst, the cable in the ends of the cable always explodes.

My cables have lasted me for ages. 2 years

    • Written by Shay S from Jarrow

I am buying a new cable as my old cable’s rubber sleeve has ripped. It has done me well and I don’t know why everyone cries about their cables snapping because I’m very rough with my cables. Constantly pulling and bending them. I don’t see how mine haven’t broke yet. It’s simple don’t rag the cable about and it won’t snap. I learnt my lesson but seems like others would rather complain and repeat.

    USB Cable

    • Written by Patricia P from Milbridge

I have had this charger for over 2 years and it goes with me on my travels and I use it everyday while I am watching tv. I have had no problems with this charger and it even gets caught under my recliner chair and still works fine. Happy to have the length of a 2 ml. Getting one for my son. He loves the length.

    Poor durability

    • Written by Amy C from Waterloo

I agree with everyone else who has said that these do not last. ALL of mine have exposed cables just below where the cable connects to my phone. I have been through countless apple cables, while during the same time period, none of my husbands cables for his android phone have required replacement (even cheap non-propritary cables that he's bought last way longer). These Apple cables are junk. Especially for the price.

After just a few months of use, it began to rip and eventually stopped working. Not very durable at all.

Dear apple I love you so much but....

    • Written by Marcin K from Jordanów

First of all they break like crazy.... The should be dummy proof at least for me
Second, they are really expensive... I know that they are made with precision... but... look at the USB C cables that are made and can charge the phone to the fullest at 15minutes (yes the super vooc)
And the last of all.... We do not need headphones inside the box... I'm buying a phone I do not need headphones... Give me a proper 2m cable and fast charging brick for that... Thank You.

Apple charger cords are an embarrassment

    • Written by Kristi M from Thompson

Bought a new cable a few weeks ago, already stopped working. Your cables are garbage and you should be ashamed to produce them.

Best cable for the best phone

    • Written by JohnLuke B from Chula Vista

For everyone saying this cable is horrible, I’ve had mine for a little over a year and it’s starting to show some wear. I take care of everything I buy so I have no idea what everyone else is talking about. Bet half the people that rated this 1 star sleeps with their phone meaning the cord is going to bend somewhere somehow. Cords are not supposed to be bent period, there is metal inside thus bending and twisting will break the metal. I also believe people pull on the cord vice the actual plastic cover on the connector, again a no no. Only reason my cable is starting to give is because my wife uses it now so twice the wear, twice the bending and pulling.

Darned if you do and darned if you don't.

    • Written by William L from Middleton

It is frustrating to be years into buying an Apple Cable being almost always throwing money away because they don't hold up, and buying a non-Apple but certified Lightening cable is almost always throwing money away because they're not reliable even if they don't fall apart.

It's a bigger frustration when you're an IT Pro. You use technology a lot. You depend on it. You see Apple boast about the environment but the cables are creating unnecessary waste. Cables I get from other first tier tech vendors last, they work, and they're priced well.

Please, start making a cable that lasts or cut your price.

Not worthy of the Apple name

    • Written by Margaret R from Lincoln

Apple, these cords are TERRIBLE. They go bad within 6-12 months, and at $30 they are obscenely expensive. You have loyal customers-don't abuse them this way.

Kinked and Cracked cable after 5 months

    • Written by Elizabeth K from Downingtown

Very disappointed with the power cable for my new MacBook. After just 5 months it has kinks and one part is actually cracked with the wires exposed. My MacBook spends most of it's time plugged in at a desk or my bedside table - not traveling a lot. The cable for my previous MacBook Pro was great for over 4 years and is still going strong. The quality of this cable is poor (read the other reviews!) and unacceptable considering the cost of a MacBook.
