    Terrible. Do not buy

    This cable was is total waste of money. It stopped working juse after few months use. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone

    Darned if you do and darned if you don't.

    It is frustrating to be years into buying an Apple Cable being almost always throwing money away because they don't hold up, and buying a non-Apple but certified Lightening cable is almost always throwing money away because they're not reliable even if they don't fall apart.

    It's a bigger frustration when you're an IT Pro. You use technology a lot. You depend on it. You see Apple boast about the environment but the cables are creating unnecessary waste. Cables I get from other first tier tech vendors last, they work, and they're priced well.

    Please, start making a cable that lasts or cut your price.

    Not worthy of the Apple name

    Apple, these cords are TERRIBLE. They go bad within 6-12 months, and at $30 they are obscenely expensive. You have loyal customers-don't abuse them this way.

    Apple should be a shamed

    With all the great creations by Apple you’d think they could get this right. I am now ordering my 3rd cable. The last one is less than 6 months old.

    Kinked and Cracked cable after 5 months

    Very disappointed with the power cable for my new MacBook. After just 5 months it has kinks and one part is actually cracked with the wires exposed. My MacBook spends most of it's time plugged in at a desk or my bedside table - not traveling a lot. The cable for my previous MacBook Pro was great for over 4 years and is still going strong. The quality of this cable is poor (read the other reviews!) and unacceptable considering the cost of a MacBook.

    Cables kink & stop working

    Very annoyed i got the 2 m cable & it lasted less thdm 6 mths - made to break i think ! $55 !!!! I got the long one do it wouldnt need to stretch or kink. It did ! Piece of rubbish

    Had mine years

    Yes, mine is in frequent several,times a day use.....for several years ....looks dead scruffy but still working ....all plastic coating gone , but Apple stuff is good n juicy , might get a mortgage and buy another one just in case my old one dies ......

    Poor quality

    It's great to have the extra length to charge your phone when outlets are far but after a year and three months the cable started ripping. I I expected a higher quality product especially from normal use. Disappointed with the short one year warranty.

    My second lightning to USB cable fraying at the lightning end in 20 months

    The first cable I had frayed less than two years old. It frayed at the lightning end. I thought it was me pulling the cable off wrongly . Hence when I bought the second lightning cable I was very careful to pull the cable out by putting my fingers on the hard white plastic. Nevertheless it has frayed at the same place after 18months. These lightning to USB cables are now cheaply and poorly made and not worth replacing with another Apple cable.
    Sadly I will look elsewhere to replace this.

    Frayed fire hazard

    Bought a 2m cable in December. It's already frayed. I could maybe understand it, if I moved it around, but it stays plugged in to the same outlet all the time. Apple strongly advises that you buy Apple cords to go with Apple products, but the cords are substandard.

    Haven't had any problems so far

    I've read plenty of reviews saying that Apple's Lightning cables are awful and break easily, but I honestly haven't had any problems with my cable so far, and I've had it for around 1.5 years, plugging it in far more frequently than most people would due to the not very long battery life of my iPod touch. To be honest, my cable looks almost just as good as it did when it was brand new.
    The only bad part of these cable are that they are slightly overpriced, but they're made by Apple, so that's probably why.

    I really love all of my Apple products ever since my Apple IIc but please,please, please do something about the cables. I know it's not you alone because I bought a 5 pack of cables from another retailer and while unlike yours they don't crack, after less than a year I'm back to buying yours because at least 3 of the 5 cheaper ones have stopped working. Please solve the cable issue, after all you are Apple!

    Doesn’t last

    The cable barely lasted a year before it started to tear and with electrical tapping it for another (2 years total) it now does not work. Cable was only used by my bedside table and never left that port.

    Another USB CABLE !!

    I can’t believe I’m having to order another cable....oh wait ! Yes I can....the reviews are terrible and they last a few months. Cmon Apple....give us a break here.

    Try it & see

    There isn’t a bigger sceptic than me. I was 100% with the two for £5 brigade. I think over the years I’ve got through more of these moody ones than I can remember. Last Monday, I went into the local Apple shop & was heartbroken and having to part with nearly £30 nicka for one cable. The moody ones were getting so hot it did genuinely concern me. All the stories on hear about yes they’re wonderful or terrible. In my humble opinion, the difference in terms of manufacturing (being tangible I mean) the difference is remarkable. I’m in no way condoning the RRP for the product, how can a cable cost nearly £30 nicka which would cost no more at guesstimiation in the little people land 50p to produce. The quality is immediate once you open the box. We all know Apple is top draw & essentially you get what you pay for. It’s top quality & everything just works as we all know. The moody cables are more than likely made in the same sweatshop anyway. I’m not justifying their price in anyway, however I thing if treated more carefully & respect this should be ok for a few years. Why on earth would anybody wear a Rolex???? It’s essentially ostentatious & in your boat. I’d take Patek Philippe everyday.

    if zero stars was an option this would get it,

    This is perhaps the worst piece of technology on the market, especially that an iphone cost so much yet they give you a 10cent cable that doesnt make 6 months, I have gone to Apple store In Broadway to change this and all i get is disdain and arrogance from the staff who are rude and condescending like I am trying to scam a them for their worthless 10c cable. Serious garbage and arrogant staff who would rather argue with you rather than replace the cable and keep their stupid but loyal customers, keep your receipts and dont fall for the kind of BS that staff will give you because they are so cheap that youll feel like a criminal leaving the store.

    Just Awful!!

    I canot belive apple would produce such rubbish. I have an old iPad and iPhone on the old adapter its frayed and split but still works! these new lighting cables are so bad I'm on my 4th 2 were not apple products but 2 were this one I've had for 5 months and AGAIN!!!! its failed are apple even aware how poor there cables are? or do they even care any more. Apple stuff has been breaking a lot recently the company seems top be producing so very poor stuff.

    New design works with iPads

    Apple has apparently redesigned the cable. The new one I just bought is thicker and fully charges my iPads while they are being used.

    Look for the new model number to insure you are getting the redesigned cable: M0819AM/A

    I have an older version of this 2m cable and it did not fully charge my iPads (Air 2 and 12.9" Pro). The "Not Charging" message would appear around 90% charged and would remain there. If you put the iPad to sleep it would finish charging.
