    Works great with iPhone 6s

    • Written by Irfan A from Santa Clara

I just bought this SD card reader to transfer the photos from my Nikon D3100 to my iPhone 6s and it works flawlessly. I was a bit apprehensive as most of the reviews on Amazon about this product stated that it works only with the iPad. However I have tested the same and it does work with iPhone 6s.

tested, works with iPad Pro, iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 9.2

    • Written by Steven O from Flagstaff

The adapter works to import image files to the iOS Photos app. I'm running iOS 9.2 on an iPhone 6 Plus and iPad Pro. The transfer speed on the iPad Pro is faster, rated at USB 3.0 speeds as opposed to the iPhone's USB 2.0 speed. I transferred a Nikon D800 RAW file, which are huge 36 megapixel files, in about 2 seconds on the iPad and roughly 5 seconds on the iPhone.

If you're working with RAW files, make sure your camera model is supported by iOS. Once the files are transferred to your Photos app, you will still need an app to convert the RAW files to file types compatible with the photo editor apps you use. Most will convert to JPG at this time. I'm using the piRAWnha app but there are others. Even the current Adobe apps for iOS will only work with JPG files—Lightroom and Photoshop Fix are the two I tested.

    Amazing!

Does exactly as it says on the box. 100% love this!
I do photography and now it's so much easier to share my photos on all my apple devices! I literally take all my photo so on my camera then plug it straight into my iPad and done! Then my cloud puts them everywhere I need them!
    Highly recommend*

Works great with my iPhone 6 Plus

    • Written by Kelli T from Cairnlea

I bought a Panasonic Lumix FZ70 yesterday. I didn't want to pay another $150 for a camera with WiFi so I bought this little beauty. Gave it a whirl today and it transferred photos taken with my new camera from my SD card to my iPhone 6 Plus effortlessly, easily and FAST. Much faster than mucking around with WiFi connections. Just make sure you have the latest iOS 9.2 for it to work. Now I can share my professional photos on the go from my phone quickly and easily! Thanks Apple!

I have no idea what all the bad reviews are from!?

    • Written by Brian B from Bethlehem

I have an older(3 yrs) Olympus SP 720UZ with a 4gb SD. I used to have a computer but it died...no big deal because I have an iPad Air 2 (tho next time I am getting a Mac lol). Now I didn't even read the instructions...I took out my SD card and plugged it into my new camera card reader from Apple. From their I plugged my lightening cable into my tablet and it removed the pics from SD card on to my iPad pic folder piece of cake....down Loaded 20 pics without an issue and it even kept the old ones on my SD card...

When I was done I unplugged the cable, removed my SD card from the card part, and put it back in my digital camera reader slot by the battery: simple as that! I am really unsure as to what the negative reviews are about. Perhaps you are all over thinking things...or maybe I'm just smart enough to not have to

    Works just as I hoped

    • Written by Dave F from Nottingham

Ordered yesterday at 14:34, despatched 20:55, free delivery this morning 10:15
    Packed effectively and securely.
Inserted lead, plugged in SD card, instant import.
Tried 2nd SD card from my wife's camera: just as good.
All it has to do is keep this up with larger number of photos in due course.
No, it isn't cheap, but you get what you pay for....
It would be nice to be able to choose which photos to delete, rather than the all or nothing it offers, but I can live with this.

    Awesome product!

    • Written by Scott M from Morrisville

I'm not sure what the heck all of you whiners are doing, but I plugged this into my iPhone X, my iPad Pro 10.5, and my 2nd Gen iPad Pro 12.9... and it worked perfectly. I popped my SD card in and the Photos app popped up on all 3 devices asking to import both my RAW and JPEG shots.

Anyone that is expecting this to be able to offload data from an Apple device is misinformed. This is for viewing and importing ONLY. It is not a way to save space. Don't hope/expect it will do that. It won't. Besides, ya'll should know better by now.

    Great idea

    • Written by Michelle S from Killarney

I got this while on holidays years ago was very useful been used on quite a few holidays to share or show off the pictures rather than waiting till at home.

It doesn't seem to work as well with my iPad mini 4 though as it did with the iPad mini 1.

I've not really used with iPhone so not sure how well it works.

It works great for what it is intended to do.

    • Written by Michael D from washington

I bought a generic version of this and it was junk. This device is designed to import comparable photos and video into the photo app on your iOS device. It will NOT export photos. It will not photos tor video in formats that are incompatible with iOS. I use it for getting photos off my camera when I travel and it’s worked 100% of the time. It will NOT save any photos I take in a raw format because iOS can not process them. It works great for importing video I take in a mp4 format but it cannot import any proprietary format video

New ones work great, some folks with older dongles may need to upgrade

    • Written by Eric S from Littleton

I just (re)bought this, and the new hardware works fine with an iPhone 6s, iPad Mini 4, and iPad Pro 10.5"

Based on some of the one-star reviews, I think people are using this listing to complain about older, similar products. Bottom line, some of them (namely, the old 30-pin SD card reader combined with a Lightning-to-30-pin converter) no longer work after upgrading to iOS 11. I'm with you, folks -- the obsolescence of the old "Camera Kit" hardware is a sad thing. But, it's time for us all to get over it and upgrade to the new hardware -- you'll be so glad once you have.

    Great for drone pilots

I enjoy being able to review my aerial video's right after the flight on my I-pad or I-phone. Previously, I had to get back to the desktop at home. I have a P3 Pro and use the I-Pad Mini2, just can't say enough about this reader, works great.

    RAW into JPEG

    • Written by Russel J from Hercules

Just got this today and immediately tested it on RAW files taken by my Phantom 3 Pro. I read a review earlier stating that it converted RAW files into jpeg files without warning. I used a microSD card with DNG files in it and imported a photo into my iPad Pro's (9.7) Photos app. I then opened the Photos app in my MacBook Pro and waited for it to update with the new file. I found the file and it was still the large DNG file of the original. I think this will be a useful tool to transfer photos into iCloud through my iPad's Photos app without having the need to lug a MacBook around when I travel.

Works great with my iPad Air 2! I can easily import videos from my GoPro quickly. I was hesitant to purchase this item at first because of the negative reviews, but it has impressed me so far and I don't see why people are complaining. Great buy, especially for photographers and people with GoPros.

SD card reader-works on iPhone X

    • Written by Ted B from Lebanon

Bought card reader to view game camera pictures. Works perfect for my application. Select and download to my iPhone X. Had a knock off cable that I used on the iPhone 6 but it wouldn't work on new phone. The Apple product works fine.

    lightning to SD card reader

    • Written by James C from port charlotte

I have read most of the reviews, and after getting my Reader I found out HAY IT WORKS, WOW....... So what I can tell you is I am running the 10.3.3 software and when I first use it on my phone... notting happened ? So it look liked that the lightning adapter was seated all the way in but is was not, because my phone case was not letting it touch all the way in. So try taking off your case because when I did, it seated all the way and a second later the photo app. open and there was a import tab at the bottom. it works great!!!!!!!

THE BEST WAY TO TRANSFER PICTURES CAMERA TO IPADS

    • Written by WARREN L from DUNCAN

This is the best way to load quality pictures that are in the order of 15 MB per picture, then you can sent these pictures to friends so they too have quality pictures to view or print. The pictures transfer very fast and perfect. The other important thing is that it you want to send the same pictures at at a lower quality the IPad lets you sent the pictures at full quality or reduced quality.

I do not understand that this is not suggested on the app Tips and Tricks so that everyone can use this great device..

After the pictures are in an IPad you can transfer the quality pictures to an IPhone or another iPad at full quality by using Air Drop.
