I bought this item at Best Buy 3 weeks ago and at first i doubted if it really works because of bad reviews but i bought it anyway for my iphone xs max. I shoot raw and i could transfer all the raw pics to my iphone. I had my phone updated to ios 12.3 last night and tried again today, good to say it is working transferring my raw pics.

Fast transfer from Nikon camera to iPhone!

    • Written by Suzanne P from HOBOKEN

Surprised at the bad reviews here. I've had this gadget for a couple years and find it indispensable. Pop in the SD card from your DSLR and a window should pop up on your iPhone that shows all photos on the card (unplug and replug if you don't see it). Simply select the ones you want to transfer to your phone. The transfer is lightning fast! Then select "Keep" so the photos remain on your SD card too. Voila! You've backed up your photos and you're ready for editing and sharing. (Even better if you automatically upload from your phone to iCloud and Google Photos to create additional back-ups effortlessly.) This gadget has worked flawlessly with my 6S and my XR regardless of updates. Note: I don't transfer video. The iPhone takes better quality videos than the Nikon!!

Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader Review

    • Written by Robert J from Fallon

Works! I use to import digital pics from my Sony Cybersot Digital camera to my iPad Pro (10.5) using 8GB SDHC card. Connects to my iPad Pro Photos app automatically! I am also using to import digital pics that I have converted from 35mm slides using a “Digitnow” Film scanner via a 512MB ScanDisk. Connects to my iPad Pro Photos app automatically— scanner labels digital pics as PICT0001.jpg, PICT0002.jpg, etc., but pics import to Photos apps with no problem. Excellent product!

    Read and Learn

    • Written by Steve N from Sydney

All the negative reviews about not being able to download are written by people who need to read Edward de Bono (lateral thinking). If you double click the home button on your i-Thing and close the Photo program after your first foray, amazingly all the photo's on the SD card appear!
Not rocket science guys but you do have to restart "Photo's" every time you want to use it - the device does everything it claims to do if operated correctly. I've used it on i-Pad Mini 5, i-Phone X, i-Pad Pro and have had no problems at all. Camera's have been Sony and Panasonic in both RAW and J-PEG.

    Works as it should

I have been using it to transfer videos and photos from my camera to my iPad Pro 10.5. So have not really encountered any hiccups. It’s fast, reliable. I will warn you, not all file types are readable. I used AVCHD for a while, but couldn’t figure out why it was not reading until I changed the file type to mp4 or mov. Either way it is still great and works if you don’t have a computer on the go.

    Ex product

    • Written by Vern R from Flin Flon

This product works great and you can load photos in minutes. As far as the reviewer who used it for 3 years with no trouble and then had issues, I doubt if it's the cable's fault. They are cheap to buy as well. As far as I'm concerned they are a must in every camera bad.

    Uploads made easy

    • Written by Sheree C from Glenning Valley

I purchased this product to transfer photos from my GoPro micro sd card to my phone as the GoPro app can be temperamental when pairing wirelessly at times. I avoided having to upload pictures to my mac then back to my phone for things like Instagram uploads.
Simple and easy to use, I placed the micro sd card into the sd card adapter so it would fit then into the lightning sd card reader, connected it to my iPhone and imported all my photos from the sd card to my phone within a few seconds.
I would recommend this for people who use different types of cameras and want to upload the images to their device quickly and effortlessly.

Works with 5th gen iPad and iOS11

    • Written by Simon O from Dundalk

I was a little anxious before buying this as I had seen a lot of reports that it had stopped working after the upgrade to iOS10.3.2. After an online chat with Emmet at Apple Support, I was reassured and purchased the reader. It worked first time. Mind you, I have not tried anything complicated, just reading pictures, and video clips, from the SD cards of a pair of Nikon cameras into the Photos app.
My iPad is a Model A1822 running iOS 11.03

    Works Like a Dream

    • Written by John W from Sydney

I needed this accessory for my up and coming holiday, reading all the one-star reviews I thought twice, but couldn't think of another option. I'm pleased to say it works like a dream.

I'm running ios 11.0.3 on, and iPhone 7 Plus and I've had no problems.

Imports all types of files (pictures, panoramic, HD video) within seconds.

Plug in the device, your pictures pop up, and you can manually select each picture or tap "Import All" in the top left.

The device recognises already imported pictures and videos when you plug it in again. Works as expected

    Works with iPhone6

    • Written by Edlenne Fatima A from Cebu

Was hesitant to buy it at first since some people in the internet says it works well with ipad only but it works perfectly with iPhone. Great when you're travelling and would want to transfer pictures from your camera to phone, and to be able to post it in Facebook or whatever you might want to do with the picture. ;)

I just purchased this Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader yesterday and i could not, for the life of me, get this thing to work. I was ready to throw in the towel. Then, I read the instructions. Turns out, it doesn't work if you insert the SD card into the reader and then insert the lightning cable into the phone. You must first insert the reader into the phone and then insert the SD card. Works great!!

    Works Great. Very Happy!

    • Written by John R from Melbourne

Prior to heading out to buy the Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader I thought I would check the reviews on the Apple website. Even thought the cost involved (A$45) is not great I didn't want to waste my time and money buying something that may not work as intended. Having read so many negative reviews I almost didn't bother making the purchase. However, I needed a way to easily transfer photos from my Samsung NX300M digital camera to my 12.9 inch 1st Gen iPad and my iPhone 6 Plus. Both devices are running the very latest version of iOS. I must say I was super impressed with how easy everything worked and the speed at which my pictures and videos transferred to my iPhone and iPad. I have no idea why so many people have given this product a 1 star rating. I don't doubt that they are not happy with the product but all I can say is that for me - it works great and I'm very happy!

    9 MONTHS AND STILL COUNTING

    • Written by Steve K from Walton

I bought a Mavic 2 Zoom drone for my own enjoyment last summer. I needed a way to transfer my videos and photos to my brand new iPad Pro that I also bought just for this project. I've traveled over 9500 miles around the US and many trips to the Caribbean and have made over 600 videos and over 3000 photos and every single time I transferred from the SD card from the drone the cable connected both with absolutely zero problems. The only thing I learned was to "keep" my videos/photos after importing and go to the iPad "photos" tab and open this and then go back to the "import" tab and "select all" to erase the SD card. This cable/adapter is great and I do recommend it.

    Very Satisfied.

    • Written by Robert A from Peoria

I purchased this after reading the reviews and realizing that most people, for what ever reason are having issues. I have at the time of this post copied and edited over 100 RAW photos with zero issues. I’m using a 5th Generation iPad that is on the current iOS (11.1.2).

I’m not quite sure why people have been having so many issues but based off of my experience there are none. It is a simple peripheral that is doing as specified.

It deserves a higher rating than it has received.

Works as perfect as it should! Stop complaining!!

    • Written by Anthony C from Staten Island

Not sure why people are having issues with this product..
I purchased this SD reader today..
I took about 50 pictures with my Nikon camera with SD card. All photos were in JPG large fine.
I simply plugged the adapter in my 12.9 iPad Pro with IOS 11.1 update.. The display immediately showed all my images and it gave me the option of selecting one at a time or all images to upload.
I chose to upload all and the process was smooth and very quick.
I also tried on iPad 9.7 Pro and iPhone 7s Plus.
    All perfect.
I highly recommend this adapter for a good excuse to take my digital SLR camera for a stroll for easy upload to iPad to review and editing.
