    Useless. Please don’t buy this.

    • Written by Daniel alberto P from San Jose del cabo

I purchased this adapter, hoping it would help me get a couple of pictures edited in Lightroom on my iPad while on the go, it does read the card, but is -incredibly- slow, takes about 2-5 seconds to read each picture (I shoot RAW format) so I get the size of the pictures is large, but if you take hundreds of pictures in your card you’re gonna have to wait hours for them to load before you can import them, so not useful at all, might as well get a WiFi dongle for your camera or something to send them to your iPad instead of this adapter. (Tried it on iPad mini and iPad Pro)

    Sad

    • Written by Jacinda M from White City

I spent almost a thousand dollars today on a new iPad mini, compatible pencil, Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader, Lightning to Digital AV adapter, and a Bose Wi/fi/bluetooth speaker. I chose this size of device over an iPod because, in addition to playing my music, I wanted to display my photos. I came home and synced my music, then attempted to upload my photos using this new $33 SD Card Reader and it simply wouldn't show me any photos, let alone let me choose which to import. Then I googled "why won't my..." and came here to find all of these poor reviews :( I wish I had looked before but, to be honest, I never imagined that Apple would be selling an accessory that simply doesn't work as advertised. I'm disappointed and want my money back. I don't like using a cloud for my photos, but I'll try to find another way.
    Sincerely,
    Disappointed

    Stunningly ineffective

contrary to the description, it does not import video. apparently there are workarounds. but as Steve used to say it “doesnt” just work. Ives has lost his way and we left with dongles and adapters for everything, many which are cumbersome at best...agh.

    Stopped working

    • Written by Katie W from Gainesville

I bought this product so I could import photos directly to my phone. I’m currently abroad in Africa and won’t be back in the states for at least 2 years. Carrying around my phone and small camera with this portable adapter seemed like the perfect solution so I wouldn’t have to carry my laptop with me everywhere. The adapter worked the first few times but now it corrupts the third photo every time I import photos. I can directly import from my camera to my laptop and have no problems. Except I have iOS 12 on my phone making it unreadable on my laptop until I update it to the new software system except I’m in a country that has slow internet connection making it difficult to do this. All around Apple has botched this experience and I will be looking for a new adapter as soon as possible and it will not be with Apple.

    RAW imports are useless

    • Written by Kenneth S from Hurricane

i Import my photos from my canon 70d and it is fast but the photos are useless! They are so blurry you cannot view the photo at all. If I connect my cameras WiFi and connect the iPad to my cameras WiFi and import that way, the photos are clear and sharp. I was hoping for a simpler solution but I just wasted money.

Used to Love this Product Now its terrible

    • Written by Sean B from Embrun

I use multiple different types of trail cameras and have used this card reader in the woods for years... Never had issues until this year!!!!!
its hit and miss. Sometimes it reads the photos but most of the time the IPhone 7 says that "This device is not supported"
THIS DRIVES ME INSANE when I'm in the woods I have no other option to view my pics so I will likely have to switch products if this issue isn't fixed soon. I use these for business and I have 7 iPhones and 5 iPads which I replace often......

From what I understand this is a pretty basic product and should be fairly simple for Apple to Repair

please let me know when it is fixed

Hardware is fine software on iOS is garbage

    • Written by Natalie J from Winchester

It can’t read the files unless a camera created the files even if you drop the files in the directory. I’m returning mine back to Best Buy in the morning tomorrow.

Difficult to believe you can match such dreadful software with modern hardware. Its an embarrassment. Even more so as apple are really a leading software company. This just goes along with the recent spate of dreadful software from apple. Primitive in the extreme.

A waste of £40 as my mifi is infinitely faster with a wireless reader and supports streaming.

Ranks along side the worst from china.

Imported fine, but when trying to edit images on a Mac images are claimed to be unsupported even thought they work perfectly well when importing directly.

As with some of the other reviewers on here bought this in order to transfer video shot on my digital camera to iPad Air 2 and it didn’t work, tried in a number of formats MP4 etc but no joy.

Also I can’t belive you censor what can be written in a review

Stop with the paranoia and start making products that work

    DO NOT BUY!

    • Written by Harun G from London

I have bought 2 of these devices now, neither of them work. If you think your doing something wrong your not. Despite what people are saying about formatting they are also wrong. I have tried RAW format which failed, I tried making sure my SD card images were in a DCIM folder which they were. I tried the device on my I phone 8, 7 , I pad AIR all running on the current 12.3.1 update. NOTHING WORKS. I would genuinely suggest if you want the ability to reliably be able to do this switching to a another device that uses SD cards for storage as Apples closed system will not allow you the flexibility you will need.

    • Written by Mary B from Aberdeen

My lightning to SD camera card reader bought from the Apple store used to work great with my iPad air2. Now it doesn’t work at all. “Not recognised”. It is disgraceful that Apple should sell products that aren’t going to work with their own equipment. Come on Apple - get it sorted. This type of thing will do your reputation no good at all.

    Doesn’t work with iPhone XR

    • Written by Matthew O from Lakeville

I purchased this Sd card reader so that I can get photos and vidios from my Phantom 4 pro’s SD card to my iphone. I noticed a few problems: First, the SD card reader doesn’t work on my iPhone XR which defeats the purpose of buying it, second, the reader can only view and download JPEG photos and videos (tried it on my old iPhone SE) which won’t work for me either because I shoot RAW. With this product you can download photos from a GoPro if you have a phone that it works with.

It's very inconvenience for the users who want to transfer the videos from camaras to the ipad or iphone immediately....please fix it !!!! You really make users upset, APPLE IS OVER THE HILL !!!!!!!!!!!!! FIX IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
