    Good product

    • Written by yanuar K from pekanbaru

First time i am using this product, i got some issue when my iphone cannot read my SD card. But in other time i used another SD card it works flawlessly. I can see my photo from thumbnail, and then i can choose which photo to import.
I think it depends on your SD card read and how many photo inside your SD card. My first SD card has 12.9GB photo inside and the second SD only has 750Mb photo with 48mb/s read capability. Maybe it can help. With iphone 6splus, iOS 10.1.

Bought this product because it can support Iphone, After use it, I basically got frustrated everytime I use.

1: it cannot preview the photos for me to select which I want to transfer. All u can see are small thumb nail size photos, select by guessing.

2: There is no easy multi selection like Iphone / ipad gallery, meaning if U have to select 300 photos into your phone or ipad, u have to tap each photo to select, to tap 300 times.

3: programe by defalt would like u to import all photos from SD card, NO WAY! Nobody want to import few thousand photos into iphone or Ipad.

4: program by defult would like you delete those photos that U imported from ur SD card. NO WAY! Apple, Dont try to be smart!

the most frustrating is the first two points, until it has preview function, until it has easy multi select, it is a failure product now!

Left the store and it didn't work

    • Written by Emilie C from Halifax

purchased a new iphone today and this along with it. was instructed by the employee that it would work and when I got home and tried it nothing happened. I spoke with apple support online and they at first told me it's not compatible with an iPhone. I had to read them the description online to show it says it should work. all they told me to do was bring it back and make them test it in store or return it. unhappy with my overall experience.

It works on my iPhone 6S Plus running iOS 10.2

    • Written by Danny K from Hays

Ok so I was worried at first but it is compatible with my gear. I shoot with a DSLR (Nikon D7000) and wanted to edit straight on my phone. When you open your photo app there should be a selection for "Import" next to your "Photos", "Memories" and "Album". It reads my SanDisk Extreme Pro card and my Samsung Evo micro sd card with the adapter. Overall I'm glad I have this so no need to carry a laptop. I gave it four stars because when you import you only get a preview of your images and video in a thumbnail instead of a full screen.

    Great for drone pilots

    • Written by John P from Opelika

I enjoy being able to review my aerial video's right after the flight on my I-pad or I-phone. Previously, I had to get back to the desktop at home. I have a P3 Pro and use the I-Pad Mini2, just can't say enough about this reader, works great.

    It doesn't work

    • Written by Bar A from telav iv

It was bought to transfer photos and videos to iPad for further processing or review. It literally worked once for the first time and died. Now it is not recognised on any of compatible iPad/iPhones and I tried everything possible to make it work. Reformatting the SD card, on computer, on camera, putting in, removing waiting 30secs like they recommend and insert again, restarting iDevice ... nothing. It simply died for no reason. No physical damage what so ever no scratch or even banding, preserved perfectly. No SD card problem either. Same SD card works on computer, tried different card, nothing helps. I did not buy Apple products to experience such problems. Even when it worked the first time it was super slow and no ability view big previews before importing. This is so poor performance and it makes this unreliable device actually useless peace of plastic. What has happened with Apple values ... very sad and disappointed.

It works but it's a stupid slow process

    • Written by Hoi Ying L from Hong Kong

i have 200 photos in my SD card that i take raw photos wtih my camera. Every time I use this device, it allows me to see the previews only chronologically, without displaying the file name or taken date. It takes 3-4 seconds to load the preview thumbnail of each photo. There's no way to speed up the choosing process. That's too time-consuming!

I just got my first Apple product an Ipad Air 2, I bought it to replace my Android Tablet and my laptop PC. I had no idea how I was going to get my pictures from my camera to my ipad. Well this little gadget did the trick. I put my SD card, connected it to my Ipad and it automatically imported all my photos. Easy peasy. I was a little worried because I have absolutley no Apple experience, but so far everything has been simple.

    ok, with issues

    • Written by richard B from Victor

I generally take RAW only photos on a Nikon D810. Wanting to transfer these photos to my iPhone to email/post, I thought this reader would be a good solution. 2 issues. 1-the reader loads all of the images on the card, starting with the oldest. Having taken lots of images on the Nikon, I had to wait to have them all load before I could import the newest I just took. Apple, can you please add an option to load newest first? 2nd, the only way I could get Photoshop mobile to recognize a file was first to open it in Photos and alter it so it would save a jpg. Then open that jpg in PS. Not exactly a great workflow. This could be a PS issue, or it could be an intentional block, I don't know. But I did have the newest system and PS versions (as of 11/8/16). Would be 5 stars without those issues.

Simple. Fast. Needs to deal with large photo collection more efficiently.

    • Written by Papoj T from New York

The SD card reader allows me to use iPad Pro as my portable computer for viewing the photos when traveling, which is quite awesome when I am able to view photos on a high-definition display, RIGHT ON THE SPOT. No more carrying around a laptop when traveling. No more waiting until the end of the day to get back to my computer to see the photos I have taken. The imports are fast, reliable, and work natively with iOS Photos. It is quite awesome.

However, iOS Photos slows down substantially at reading in photos once the SD card starts to have a lot of photos in the storage (I'd say, after only 5-10 GB of my SD Card used (I have a single 64 GB SD Card while traveling), iOS Photos can barely read the photos on the card at an acceptable speed, let alone importing them).

works as advertised on iphone 6 plus

    • Written by Jason J from Wilmington

great for reviewing trail camera pics in the field and quickly deciding on camera placement. organizes photos into an import folder and allows quick decisions on whether to import all or not. Being picky, I did not give it 5 stars due to no protective covering for possible dust in the reader contacts when in the field.

    Won't work with update 10.0.2

    • Written by Jessica S from Watertown

I've had this adapter for a few months now and I love it because I can import pictures and order them from walmart. I never like to do the updates because something always happens, and this time was no different. The pictures won't show up. I plug it in with my card from my camera and nothing comes up. I hope it's just a quick fix with another update soon, because this is the only way I can order pictures, as I don't have a laptop.

    Works just as I hoped

    • Written by Dave F from Nottingham

Ordered yesterday at 14:34, despatched 20:55, free delivery this morning 10:15
    Packed effectively and securely.
Inserted lead, plugged in SD card, instant import.
Tried 2nd SD card from my wife's camera: just as good.
All it has to do is keep this up with larger number of photos in due course.
No, it isn't cheap, but you get what you pay for....
It would be nice to be able to choose which photos to delete, rather than the all or nothing it offers, but I can live with this.

♦WARNING♦ Does not import photos or videos from all cameras or drones

    • Written by Doug A from Greenville

This device imports photos and/or videos from the SD card if the photos and videos are stored in a folder named DCIM. The problem is not all cameras put photos and videos in this folder.

I have a Hubsan H501S / H501C camera quad-copter drone. My drone takes photos and videos and stores them in a removable micro SD card in folders named JPG and VIDEO.

The ONLY reason I purchased this device was to move photos and video I took with my drones from the micro-SD card to my iPhone and/or iPad. Now Apple has my money and I have a adapter that does not work for me.

The only way I can get this device to work is to first insert my SD card into my Windows laptop, copy the photos and videos then paste the media into a folder named DCIM. Then it works. But to do that, I need to bring my Windoes laptop with me so then I did not need this device.

The thing is Apple could fix this issue with a software update. Here is hoping they do.

Until Apple corrects this issue, I do not recommend this product.

This SD reader works great with iOS 10.0.2. Easily transferred JPGs from an SD card to my iPad and didn't destroy the original raw files on the SD card as previous reviewers have said. Great product.

Dash Cam SD card files not seen

    • Written by Robert B from Edmonds

I'd hoped to import video files from my dash cam SD card. The files are within a folder within a second folder. Photos pops up but nothing shows up. I followed others advice and moved a test file to a DCIM folder I'd created. Photos still insists there is nothing to import. This seems very un-Apple like that it cannot find these files. What is so hard about recognizing files and importing them, even if they are not recognizable image or video files?

    RAW into JPEG

    • Written by Russel J from Hercules

Just got this today and immediately tested it on RAW files taken by my Phantom 3 Pro. I read a review earlier stating that it converted RAW files into jpeg files without warning. I used a microSD card with DNG files in it and imported a photo into my iPad Pro's (9.7) Photos app. I then opened the Photos app in my MacBook Pro and waited for it to update with the new file. I found the file and it was still the large DNG file of the original. I think this will be a useful tool to transfer photos into iCloud through my iPad's Photos app without having the need to lug a MacBook around when I travel.
