    Not Robust

Had 2 of these now. They don’t last long. Not tough enough for regular daily use. Style over substance.

Worst Remote Ever Apple TV 4K

    • Written by Oran J from South Bend

Can’t use it in dark room, inaccurate search, vocal search not at all reliable - Apple should look to Nvidia Shield TV to learn how a remote should be made and streaming box should be made - picture quality is very good

    not a great remote

    • Written by Martin D from Victoria

althouigh it looks very good this remore is hard to use if you have big hands and it is so small it is extremely easy to loose specialy idf you have kids that love to hide stuff in their special spot that changes. I just wish there was an app for my phone (not an Iphone) it would make it easier

    Lousy Remote

    • Written by Sheila B from CHICAGO

I have a 2nd and a 3rd generation AppleTV and I hate both of the remotes. This remote gets lost all the time. I’ve lost two of them in the house and can’t find one of them. I just had to order another one, because I threw back the covers on my bed and it flew somewhere. Now, can’t find it. They should make it so that you can locate it with an app or something. Geez!

    Apple TV remote is terrible

    • Written by Patrick S from THOUSAND OAKS

I own two Apple TV's, obviously used in different rooms. I decided it was time to upgrade my 1st gen Apple TV when I decided I no longer wanted to put up with exhorbarant cable TV fees. So I signed up for both DirectTv and Sling on a trial basis which included free Apple TV's. The unit itself is WONDERFUL, the remote is a pain in the a**. If you don't pick it up carefully, its activates, which changes channels. The touch pad is either overly sensitive or not sensitive enough. The unit is all black with the exception of the control buttons which are centered. And 2 of the 6 are on the matte black or touch sensitive side. At quick glance its difficult to determine which end is up! And with approximately 1/3 of the remote touch sensitive, its rather important to be able to determine which end is the touch sensitive end! I CANT STAND THIS REMOTE! If there is a replacement remote somewhere please let me know!

    Trendy design over functionality

    • Written by Renee G from Nevada City

As usual, Apple scores on trendy design. But the thing has never worked right. The right/forward button has never worked properly since the day we opened the box. Finally after a year of sticky/intermittent functioning of that button we pried the thing apart (another annoying thing about Apple is they make all their products impossible to get into and fix). We discovered some sort of sticky glue over top of a button that wasn't seated correctly that could not be repaired. While I understand that manufacturing glitches happen, that is not my only issue with this remote. Like another user stated -- by removing all the buttons to have the "coolest" looking remote on the market, Apple has given us a remote that is a headache to use. Constant scrolling, tedious, takes too much time. Yes, our regular TV and video remotes and Comcast remotes are hugely clunky by comparison, but they aren't nearly as annoying to use.
