What did I spend $240 for..?

    • Written by Jeff A from Richmond

Now, these are not bad if you wish to give up control:
    - control to connect: Airpods do not have an on/off button like other Bluetooth, so you are at their mercy to connect on their own, which does not happen on a regular basis.

    - volume control: you still have to use the phone.

    - commands: I double-tap for Siri on the right and the left to advance to the next track. The left one doesn’t work.

I just purchased a pair of Jaybirds, so now I have a $240 back-up pair.

    • Written by xiuhua H from Hong Kong

I just got my airpods less than two weeks ago. But this happened to me for so many times already. When i take out the airpods , one side is 100% charged, another one can be 10% or even lower. I googled it, seems i am not the only one who have met this problem.

One of my favorite Apple products

    • Written by Alice W from Philadelphia

Soooo these are dope. The fact that they pair to the MacBook Air & Apple Watch makes any issues I had with them irrelevant. I just wish they came in rose gold. I love working out with these, just wish they got louder, to cancel out the treadmill haha but you can use one while you charge one so thats cool and they charge super quickly.

    These are magnificent

The apple AirPods are very useful and I can’t wait until the AirPod 2 releases.

These AirPods are expensive but they cost an average price for what the quality is. They are one of my best gadgets.

    good once they work correctly

    • Written by Christopher D from Walkersville

When they work, they work pretty nicely.

Unfortunately you have to make sure they're working correctly before you do anything. They have a habit of connecting and then quickly disconnecting if you bluetooth them to the phone and then try to make a phone call or play music too quickly. Also, if you're listening to music and then make a phone call they will occasionally continue playing music once the call connects.

I find them to be annoying at best when I try to run with them. They might not seat correctly in my ear but the sound cuts in and out constantly. Wearing a beanie to help hold them in place doesn't seem to help. I don't have this problem when not running. They work well for workouts as long as you're not jumping or running much.

The enclosure has a lot of edges inside the cap that allow for dirt buildup and are difficult to clean.

    Gradually Lose Reliability

    • Written by Anna O from Sandy

I bought my Air Pods a couple months ago, they worked really well at first. I actually wanted to write a good review on them. I got a little busier at work and that is also why I got them. After a month and a half, they randomly disconnect during an important phone call or music. I've been very careful with them because... well they're $150. So I took them back to best buy and Apparently I cannot return them or get a replacement. They've only gotten worse, now they say they're connected but I cant hear anything and oddly enough my husband bought his at the same time and he is experiencing the same issues. I wouldn't suggest this product.

    gives pain to ears

    • Written by Afroz M from Singapore

    1. pain on ears - after a while I started to feel pain of hard plastic on my ear skin, does not come with soft ear plugs or cushion
    2. costly on pocket - a bit costly
    3. one of the AirPods stopped working after a month - need to go to customer service to get it replaced. They told me that they will charge me $49 if found damaged. This was surprise from Apple that is not telling truth about 1 year warranty while buying.

    1. Easy to connect - no need to press on button like others
    2. Good sound quality
    3. AirPods works for at-least 1 hour of use, then put them back to charge them again

    lasted just over 1 year

    • Written by Benjamin S from New York

1 star because they worked pretty well for almost 1 year. And only 1 start because these cost $159 and the right earbud just doesn't work anymore. I am not going to shell out $159 every year just to use my phone hands free. Also, trying to speak to somebody to service these was nearly impossible. When I finally got through to somebody, i was told to make an appointment when a service associate just told me to buy a new pair.

Great, but find my iphone feature needs work

    • Written by Justin M from Davison

These are hands down the best headphones Ive ever bought, especially for wireless headphones. I had wiredless urbeats, and they didnt hold a charge for half as long as my pods do, and the pods sound way better. The urbeats also had a cord on them to keep them together even though they were wireless, which was annoying. The charging case is also a game changer. So nice. However, Apple you gotta work on the find my iphone feature with them. Apparently you can only track them when they are outside of the case or when the case is opened, so I just spent an hour looking around building on campus where I had been earlier where the last connection was, when they were in my room but not being sensed by my iphone because the case wasn't open. If apple could allow them to be able to connect within the same radius but while the case is closed, these headphones would be an easy 5 stars.

I’ve had my AirPods since they came out, they were part of my Christmas gift from my husband. I LOVE them! My husband has gotten me several other brands, (I have a thing for headphones and earphones) but I actually stopped using them and just carry these babies with me EVERY day, we both do and we love how simple and sleek their design is. We have all the apple products and they work amazing with them. We paired them ONCE, and that’s all we have to do. They have lasted us and look like new, but like everything, we take care of them. The only reason I would get a new pair, is if they come out with a new color, and even then, I would be spoiled, because these still work like new. I keep seeing reviews of them disconnecting constantly, but We’ve NEVER had a problem since owning them.

    Great wireless headphones

    • Written by Gareth R from Newmarket

I have had my AirPods for more than a year now and I am so happy with the product. The charging case is a great way to extend the life of your wireless headphones and the automatic connection is great. The battery still lasts as long as when I bought them last October and have only run into issues when I forget to charge my case (which I only need to about once a week). I would like to have see an easier transition when listening on my iPhone to my Mac, but it is easy enough to choose the Bluetooth connection on my Mac.

Don't fit at all, not even close.

    • Written by Merrick B from ALBUQUERQUE

Like all the hard-plastic Apple earbuds, they not only don't fit everyone, they are actually quite painful, even when in the ear so loose they constantly fall out. They clearly fit some people, but for many of us, they are not even a mediocre solution. My family has 4 active iPhones, numerous older versions, and some iPods lying around. When I discover even the wired earbuds in a drawer, I simply throw them out, all 4 of us hate them. It would be nice to be able to buy an iPhone minus the lousy earbuds, with a lower price since we have to buy others, anyway.

I suppose the free, corded versions are how you know to never buy the BT version (if they don't fit, these won't, either).

Very good work but bad systems

    • Written by Aditya P from Burr Ridge

I would like to say that apple did an unexceptional job on AirPods but still needs improvements on finding the charging case. I just lost my case, and there is nothing apple’s doing except sticking me with a bill of 70 bucks just for a charging case. I really didn’t like it. I hope apple understands me.

    Has potential

    • Written by Michelle P from Mission Viejo

I like how compact they are and how they automatically turn on once placed in the ears. I do not like that if I need to change the volume or sound I need to double tap the AirPod, wait for Siri, tell Siri what to do, then wait for the action. Or, just adjust/change from my phone. They fall out when I run or do push ups, so now I switch headphones If I'm running. I really hope Apple makes an update to include buttons on the AirPods to adjust volume ,change songs or answer a call. Siri takes too long. A sports version would be great! Overall, they're okay, I would say great if you just need them for conversations or listing to music where you have your phone on hand, because like I said, Siri takes too long.

    Doesn't hold charge, doesn't connect

    • Written by Alex M from New York

I've had my AirPods since May, 2018 and for the first 4 months they have worked well. Charged, connected, battery lasted for a long time.

A couple of months however they started having issues. I take meticulous care of my headphones, clean them regularly, make sure that the case is charged and etc.

First, the connection was starting to get bad. If I put my phone in my pocket and was listening to music, it sounded like the connection was constantly interrupted and the headphones were going in and out, so I'd have to take my phone out and hold it in my hand for them to work properly. Then the battery started buying quickly, within about an hour I'd start hearing the sound that the headphones are getting low. Now during the 6th month of ownership, if I put both headphones in my ears at the same time, the right one doesn't connect at all. The right headphone has to go in first, otherwise it won't connect and I have to put them back in the case and take them out again.

For a product that costs $150 these problems are the last thing that I would expect. Overall, the functionality is nice, but the headphones are terrible. I would never recommend them to anyone.

    Excellent Wireless Headphones

    • Written by Dudley L from Basildon

Very impressed with these AirPods. Most important for me first and foremost was the sound and for an eternity I did not buy these believing that they would be too tiny, as they were not the In-ear "sealing" type (i.e. earphones that insert fully in the ear forming a seal with the rubberized soft section). Also I based the sound on the old classic wired EarPods which did sound painfully tinny to me. However the AirPods incredibly give quite a decent sound much to my surprise and relief!

The shape and design of the Airpods are decent and small. The charging case is very well made and the AirPods get magnetically sucked into them rather nicely for storage and charging.

The Airpods could do better though when using them with other devices apart from the usual Apple products, primarily with Windows laptops/tablets. After all the Airpods are using the Bluetooth "standard" which should work well with other devices incorporating the Bluetooth connection standard. They work for the most part but with both setup issues but more importantly it's during use that issues are experienced. Momentary loss of connection for one or both AirPods and initial delay in engaging sound/mic connection when using, i.e. Rosetta Stone on the PC may find the AirPods problematic as the AirPod's Mic may not kick-in quick enough from it's auto muting technology or noise cancelling technology. This makes the AirPods almost unusable for this, which is why I may be focusing on the Version 2 of AirPods when released.
