    Just a lousy product.

Sadly, I have lost count of the number of times I have replaced this adapter for two iPhones. Yet here I am again ordering another one! My vehicle uses the cassette port to connect with my iPhone. Using this little device has been horrible. I have either lost it or it stopped functioning rather quickly. Apple really needs to do something about this terrible product. Spending nearly $1000 on an iphone and having to deal with poor accessories is not what your users had in mind. I don't like android phones, but this is making me rethink my opinion on them.

    They break almost instantly

Both the new headphones and this jack have broken twice for me. The last pair lasted me a month and the new one didn’t even last a full 24 hours. For my next phone upgrade I’m going back to the old iPhone I hate having no headphone jack it is so inconvenient.

I'd give it 0 stars if I could

I've had 2 lightning adapters break over the course of 6 weeks. They're totally unreliable and even though they're inexpensive, it's a pain to keep having to get them replaced.

    Trash, absolute trash.

After going through 4 of these and 4 different pairs of earbuds, I can conclude that this is worthless. At first I thought my earbuds were the problem but about £40 later I discovered the adapter was the culprit, and so I bought a new one thinking the problem would be solved. Wrong. Each one lasted about 2 months of basic use, and unfortunately it took: Siri opening randomly, music playing during YouTube videos, only one earbuds working occasionally, a much lighter wallet and a multitude of other technical difficulties for me to realise that this product is trash. Sadly I could not give this the 0 stars it deserves.

    Poor reviews are correct

Anyone that has given this accessory a poor rating is correct I bought new headphones thinking that was the issue but no, it was this terrible adapter.
Honestly i’m considering switching over to an Android because I am sick of dealing with constantly spending money trying to deal with Apple’s mistakes. The hype isn’t worth it, this has been more of a liability than an asset.

I’ll use this time to browse Samsung products on my now silent commute, thanks to this horrible adapter.

    Junk!

Steve Jobs wanted all the products to be beautiful and fun. This is not. Get rid of it!

    Rubbish

Original broken already. Tried to buy a cheap replacement but Apple refuses to let us use non-Apple accessories. Ridiculous waste of money. Yet another step in the wrong direction - form over function...

    Absolute garbage :-)

A few months into using from a brand new iPhone 7, this piece of trash suddenly decided to only provide the sound to the right earphone. Yes, I did test my earphone, it worked well, so the problem belonged to this "innovative" invention.

    What a joke.

Spend over £600 on a new phone which comes with this flimsy, poorly made adapter that has broken after 3 months.

    Hate this product

How pointless this adapter is! I hate this thing what is the point of it other than to make me mad cause it gets a short in the wire so every time I use my earbuds my music shuts off I also hate that I can’t listen to my phone and charge it at the same time without buying another adapter this it the junkiest thing apple could come up with it’s not fixing anything it just makes it to where they make more money off us every time the wire gets a short or the wire starts to come apart like the charger they give with the phone

    Breaks Easily

I’ve gone through so many dongles it’s a little stupid at this point. For me they either pause and un-pause music randomly or activate Siri every few seconds. They can barely take any abuse and break easily, something you don’t want a product you might use everyday. I’m going to find a good third or second party alternative instead of spending $9.99 each time.

    JUNK THANKS APPLE

First, bought FOUR new iphones at Christmas (three for gifts) and none had the dongle. After buying four, for another $40, six months later not one still works. Even when they did produce sound it was terribleif they actually stayed in. How did Apple ever get this change out the door? What a pure scam. And it sends a dismissive message to customers. The Apple is once evangelized is gone. This entire set up was a disaster and they have done nothing. This junky adapters might as well have come from a gumball machine. Nice fat profit margin pick me up Apple? Hope the short term bump that lead to your bonus was worth the long term work youre going to need to do to regain the level of loyalty Steve created without him. You have become very...mediocre, Done with your games. And from what I hear and read, I’m not the only one. The ride down is coming fast.

    This Shouldn’t Even be Necessary

This dongle is a nightmare, and we wouldn’t even need it if Apple actually put a real headphone jack on their products. Bluetooth isn’t even close yet to being able to replace a wired connection for those who care about sound quality.

    Innovation at its beat

This is my 3rd dongle this year, carrying this extra adapter everywhere I go is a disaster. I’m constantly asking friends to borrow their dongle and of course they’ve lost theirs long ago and they don’t bother to replace it. When my phone battery is low, it’s impossible to charge and listen to music at the same time. I just drove for 3.5 hours listening to hundreds of commercials and terrible music on the radio, all because I don’t have my adapter. I blew $1000 on my iPhone and I can’t even enjoy my music. I wish I can say this is the last time I buy this dongle. Such a great innovated piece of technology that requires an adapter. I love the future!

    completely terrible

i can’t even play music peacefully through my phone. this thing will play/pause my songs half the time, will skip to the next song and make voice control randomly pop up and i won’t even say a word and it will start calling someone. apple SHOULD give a REFUND. it’s their way of making more money, simply by providing you with a product that will only last well for a few months and then all of sudden turn it into garbage so you’ll have to buy a new one. unbelievable.

    Scam

I use headphones at the gym on a daily basis. Currently on my 8th adapter in 8 months, each one literally lasts barely a month before degrading to a completely unusable state. Apple’s removal of the headphone jack is an unapologetic grab for money. I now have pay a monthly fee just to use headphones?

Slap in the Face to Loyal Customers

They should put a bucket of these in the Apple Store with a sign that reads "Take as many as you want - We're sorry for our embarrassing design change. Rest assure - People were fired."
Oh...and they don't work for more than a few months. Infuriating!!

    0 stars

I wish I could give this zero stars. It’s infuriating to have to replace this adapter every 3-6 months having already forked out for the phone itself. After a whle it starts skipping and stopping songs, and there’s absolutely no way you can hold the phone to stop it doing this.
