As most of the reviews would concur, this product is cheaply made however, I appreciate the low price since I probably buy one every couple months. It's nice to not spend a lot of money for a very easily breakable product.

    Useless Adapter

    • Written by Terry G from Adelaide

The iphone headphone is useless. Renders the use of any decent headphones unbearable due to constant clicking noise. Tried multiple expensive headphones and same result. Sure, it works fine with the headphones supplied, but who wants to use that rubbish. A good reason to change phone suppliers. Can't believe that Apple are this cheap, that they stoop to this level. We miss you Steve Jobs... I doubt he would do something like this.

Kind of makes me think Apple are evil with no respect for their customers

    • Written by Rachel M from London

Keep having to re-buy these incredibly overpriced adaptors, as they keep warping and breaking. What a dreadful, dystopian rip-off. Really making me consider giving up on iPhones.

    Pointless and poor quality

    • Written by Neil L from Upminster

Mine broke within cpl of weeks even when first used it had a crackling hissing sounds so disturbed the music. Then songs kept cutting out. Can’t be in pocket whilst walking or jogging for example as distorted and cuts out. Annoying that one is needed at all but what can you do. Go on my exercise bike and connect to Alexa

Breaks in a short period of time

    • Written by Janell S from Waukegan

Me headphones that came with my IPhone 7 broke, I didn’t want to spend around $30 on another pair so I bought an adaptor and a normal pair of earphones. The adaptor worked well for about a month or two but then if I moved it too much it would skip my music, pause my music, or summon siri. I ignored it for a bit but then it became very staticky, it was the adaptor and it was useless. I bought another one thinking it was just my mistake. This adaptor worked good, it did the job. I was listening to music one night and all of a sudden it became staticky. I checked if it was the earphones but it wasn’t. I’ve only had this adaptor for about 2 weeks. And now I can’t use it anymore. I really don’t recommend spending your money on multiple adaptors and think you should rather buy a pair of headphones with it connected. It would probably last much longer

i’ve had my jack since i got my iPhone 8. it’s honestly so amazing and helpful when i forget my airpods (which is very often lol.) i’ve seen all the bad reviews about this product, and i know how infuriating they can be. mine just broke:((. ill hopefully be getting a new one soon, but £9 is waaay too expensive for a jack. please lower your price apple, i could go to any other store and i’m sure i could find one for £3.

Cheapest quality product ever made by Apple

    • Written by Nicolas A from London

I had been told to be careful with this adapter by friends who told me that it stops working after a while but I though that with extra care, it could actually last, boy was I wrong... I have always kept it in the case of my Bose headphones, never carried it in my pockets where it could twist every direction and eventually loosen the cables inside the adapter but one day, after using it for a few hours, it decided to stop working and all I get now is continuous scratching sounds in my bose. Please please do not buy this product. Would give 0 stars if I could…

    Inconvenient and irritating

    • Written by Neelam T from Forestgate

Terrible quality, have to take it in to get replaced every few weeks. Sadly, can’t even walk in and get a replacement and instead have to book an appointment a week in advance for a one minute job. Due to this, I own two and swap them out every time one breaks, so I can still use my earphones. Terrible sound quality and just an irritating product overall. I have a job, don’t really have the time to be visiting an Apple store every month so highly inconvenient for me, yet also can’t justify buying AirPods. So basically, we’re getting ripped off.

Used this adapter for many years, works exactly as designed

There are so many negative reviews for this adapter, but when used with Apple Earpods, they work great, have had no issues with breaking, fraying or anything. Works wonderful.

    A hugely unreliable product

    • Written by Anthony R from Wickford

I've been through so many of these adaptors, Apple are ripping people off. Once my contract is up I'm switching phones, there's nothing more annoying when out on a run the music cuts off, terrible product.

    Flimsy piece of trash

    • Written by Hayley L from Tenafly

I have gone through 4 of these dongles in the past year. After a month maybe less of use, they all start to spaz, pausing and resuming music randomly without being touched or moved, they also interfere with calls. Someone at the Apple store once told me that the dongle should not need to be replaced that often, but that is bs. These are poorly made and unfortunately, there is nothing better on the market. Apple needs to come up with a better alternative for customers who prefer to use headphones with a jack. This product doesn't deserve a star, that's how bad it is.

    So frustrating - zero stars

    • Written by Alice N from London

My adapter makes my music skip songs, pause and also wake up Siri. This is endlessly frustrating and makes me want to throw my whole phone on the floor or punch someone. I've been putting up with this for months now because I don't want to give Apple the satisfaction of me buying a replacement. You have to hold it at a certain angle to make it stop - which makes walking to work with music impossible and unpleasant, let alone trying to go for a run! Such a waste that I bought nice bose headphones. I came on this website to buy a new one because I just couldn't take it anymore but refuse to pay £9 for this rubbish. It makes me feel so annoyed that they are ripping off their customers like this.

    Terrible.

    • Written by Kaori G from Mexicali

The first one I bought worked for... 3 weeks? Also, it made my phone go crazy, it would charge sometimes, then not, an announce began to appear on my screen saying that some accesories may not be supported, etc. As it worked for such a little time, I thought maybe it had been my fault. I went ahead and purchased a second one and the problem with the charger stopped; however, IT WORKED FOR 3 DAYS!!! So sad about it, maybe I will try an adapter from another company...

It's almost as if Apple purposefully made these things flimsy so people have to buy them forever. I didn't even get one included with my iphone xs max. Absolutely despicable.

    Lightning Jacks are Terrible

    • Written by Julia N from Wyocena

I have been an loyal customer of Apple phones for many years now, mainly because of the ability to easily organize my music into playlists. I have been extremely disappointed with my iphone 8. The decision to take out the standard 3.5 mm jack is the worst tech decision Apple has made. The lightning jack adapters necessary to be able to use a 3.5mm cord, rarely work (I am on a 4th adapter which didn’t work correctly straight out of the box). When they do work, the sound is shallow and weak. My next phone will definitely NOT be an iphone.
