Is not compatible with in-line microphones

    • Written by Joe S from Orange

This is not a solution to Apple's removal of the headphone jack for people who use wired headphones with in-line microphones to make phone calls. Massive disappointment, Apple thoroughly misled on this product's ability to retain the functionality that they removed from the iPhone with the launch of the 7.

    Low quality and overpriced

    • Written by Anthony T from New Cross

Sure I got mine free with my iPhone 7, but the quality is appalling.
Had it for a few weeks and it has already started shredding around the sides.
Won't be paying £9 for a replacement from Apple.
Better off looking for a 3rd party one from Amazon for a fraction of the price and better quality.

    Seriously?

    • Written by kristian E from Lutz

I am generally curious as to how many Iphone users have dropepd their phone in water up to a meter deep to warrant getting rid of the headphone jack compared to how many people use and would rather have a headphone jack. $1000 phone and to use my headphones I have to carry around a cheap dongle that breaks often and I can't charge my phone while listening to music. I think this is by far the biggest cash grab apple has done so far.

    The bane of my existence.

    • Written by Casey-Lynn S from JACKSONVILLE

I guess I don't really need this adapter to listen to my music if I just buy a brand new car with Bluetooth AND wireless headphones. I mean really? It's not enough that I am paying over $700 for a phone, but you also make me carry around cheaply made adapter, which can be easily misplaced? I lost the first one, bought another one which crapped out, bought two others that aren't "compatible" with my phone. This is the first time I have considered going back to Android since I got my first iPhone in 2012. Stop making garbage. Steve Jobs is rolling in his grave.

TERRIBLE SOLUTION to A NON PROBLEM CREATED BY APPLE

    • Written by Janet G from Hatboro

I use my iphone for everything. Isn't that what apple wants. Why then do you constantly ruin it for me? I keep a cheap pair of headphones at my work, now I need an adapter for that. And my really cheap headphones didn't seem to be supported. What? They aren't supported? I need the adapter for the car so I had to get one for there, because you no longer let my iphone/ipod work in my CTS. Again, who are you upgrading your products for. I am not going to buy a new car just because APPLE feels like making another product. Come on. And I don't like having a stupid tail coming off of my iphone. Steve must be rolling over on this one. Poor quality, bad idea and not well thought out. And PLEASE don't suggest I get airbuds. People use headphones. Simple, easy! Stop trying to be so above technology. You're actually holding us down now. Go back to an audio port. It was right there no mess no fuss. I may switch to a samsung if you keep messing with the phone and if they can keep from exploding. Technology FAIL APPLE!

The worst thing that Apple has tried to fix

    • Written by Mikayla R from Grand Rapids

This is literally the worst product ever. I’m 15 and have had to spend my own money on 3 separate adapters in 6 months because my parents think that I’m breaking them. It’s unfair how cheap and unneeded this product is. I get that Apple was trying to improve with a thinner phone, but this just made it so much worse. You can’t charge your phone and listen to music at the same time, it’s so easy to lose, and it’s horrible quality and breaks super easily. So disappointed and angry right now.

    Frustrating

    • Written by Andrew M from Indianapolis

I cannot tell you how frustrating it is to not be able to listen to music while my phone is charging and then not be able to plug my headphones into my work computer because my computer only has a 3.5 mm jack. You have reduced the utility of both the iphone and your headphones with this hardware change. I've never had a Samsung, but I'm thinking really hard about getting one now.

Bring back the Headphone jack please

    • Written by Jack H from Layton

My kids all have iphones and i hate that they removed the headphone jack. We are always hunting for the lighting adapter when we need it. My kids use headphones all the time and for us it would be much more convenient if this was included in the phone. We are close to upgrading and i'm seriously considering making them change to the android, just because the headphone jack is not an option at the moment with iphones.

I am TIRED of these things breaking

    • Written by Nadia M from Cumbernauld

I need to get my anger and frustration of this horrible product out. I have had my iPhone 7 for under 2 years and in that time I have had to buy at least 9 of these to replace the other ones breaking. I haven't even lost one, they all just broke. At £9 each that is £81 spent on terrible headphone adapters. Do you know what I could do with £81???? Have a brilliant weekend to FORGET about my headphone woes or maybe even buy some Beats earbuds for this little thing to just lower the quality of them??? With my 9th headphone jack adapter breaking today (and not only do they just cease to work - they cause Spotify to skip and jump which is really the last thing you need on a 7am walk in the pouring rain to work) I don't know how I can just go and blindly purchase a 10th. Please make an alternative, Apple, because I am so tired.

Horrible sound quality using wired headphones

    • Written by Jory W from FORNEY

It sounds like a record skipping every second when I am trying to use it with my new iphone. When I stop the music you can still here the skipping sound. I have used Apple products for over 11 years, this is pathetic.

A step backward in sound quality

    • Written by Philip J from San Carlos

I have no problem with having to use a dongle to connect my headphones. My issues are with the sound quality. Comparing side-by-side with my iPhone 6 Plus, the iPhone 7 Plus with dongle sounds noticeably flatter and lacking in dynamics. Bass does not hit as hard as I'm used to, and does not dig as deep down low. This was via a pair of Sennheiser Momentum 2's listening to Tidal streaming service (FLAC files). I understand the dongle includes a DAC, so perhaps with time more specialty manufacturers release higher quality adapters - and better DACs - than this one. But as it stands, as an audiophile, I am massively disappointed.

    Designed deliberately to fail

    • Written by John D A from Watsonville

They could have made this one solid piece of plastic instead of 2 ends flimsily connected by a short cord. They designed it with all the weakest links that cause inevitable failure in their earpods. if you have your phone in your pocket, the connection points are stressed where the cord connects with the ends. I have gone through 2 of these already and I just got my phone in December 2017.

Wish I could give -stars, removal of 3.5mm jack made me switch to Android.

    • Written by Lucas W from Lynnwood

I’ve had iPhones for years, loved them, always hated on friends with Android. Now I eat my words... how could Apple ruin such a good platform over a simple headphone jack? So stupid, angering customers off is NOT a good business strategy. The iPhone started its legacy by being both a phone and music player. I do a labor job while listening to music, I refuse to spend a ton on AirPods when I work in the rain, and need battery to last for hours. So I’m stuck buying these that keep breaking? You have with a single choice of eliminating a headphone jack rendered my iPhone pointless and obsolete for me to practically use in my day to day life. If they don’t lower the cost of the AirPods significantly or being the 3.5mm jack back I will never commit to Apple again. I was just on the verge of switching my pc to Mac but this has made me realize I can’t trust apples choices, since they do what they want not what the consumer wants. Wow... and I can’t even send this with using any words that show my displeasure with Apple.
