    I'm on my second pair, cause the first one broke but I really liked it so decided to give it another shot. A year into the second pair and they break as well, with usual wear, nothing crazy. Not worth it.

    Died after 14 months

    Good headphones when working, yet mine died after 14 months and were not eligible for a refund.

    Would recommend avoiding.

    Excellent when it WORKED!

    I do not recommend this model to ANYONE! I brought this around April or May of 2018 and I had it for about 6-8 months and my earphones were blinking red. It was not connecting to my phone at all! I did all of the troubleshooting and resetting and even made sure that the BeatsX were up to date. After spending 2 hours trying to fix this issue, i gave up. So then I called Apple and they walked me to the same steps that are posted online but nothing worked. So eventually they mailed me a empty box to put my BeatsX in and shipped it back to the manufacturer to see if they could fix the earphones. If they couldn't fix the issue then they would send me a new one for free since it was still under warranty. Maybe a week or two later, I received a call or email (cannot remember) that they couldn't solve the issue and they would send me a new one. YAY!

    Fast forward to November 2019. -- Instead of a blinking red light, I have now a blinking pink light that goes to red, and then white. I tried everything from before and nothing worked. I knew these earphones were out of warranty, but I still made a reservation with Apple Genius Bar for Friday. In the back of my mind, I knew these Beats were done for. The lady who assisted was really nice and helpful and she tried everything to solve my issues, but nothing worked.. I even told her there is a whole forum about how defective this model is.

    It was excellent when it worked, but not worth the price and the HEADACHE! Save your money and invest in something BETTER!

    Excellence in planned obsolescence

    Purchased my Beats X just over a year ago. Thought wow these just work so easy, just like everything else apple usally put their name on. No long cable tying me to my iPhone etc any more. I was happy. I didn’t want to by the Airpods as I knew that I would loose one of them, and why I won’t by the new ones. I like the idea of the BeatsX being attached together with the cable and having the same lightning connector was a bonus for me.

    As I was happy I later bought my Beats Studio3 headphones for the extra noise isolation when flying etc. (Fingers crossed they keep working.)

    As I prefer earphones normally I used my Beats X on a daily basis, mainly just in the bedroom watching Youtube etc or when out in the garden or walking the dog. They were great. Easy to use and sounded great, I thought I was lucky and didn’t have any problems like many other users were reporting.

    However just after the warranty period ended the power button started playing up, I tried all the tricks to reset them etc. Used the beats updater which said all was up to date. Sometimes the tricks seemed to work, but the problems kept returning. Sometimes I can turn them on, but getting less likely, power levels don’t matter, though inexplicably if I plug a lighting connector in with or without power then take it out it sometimes helps. That’s how they surprisingly worked today. Though sometimes I can’t even turn even them off.

    Now they hardly ever work, just trying to get them to work is frustrating. Not something you expect from an Apple product. Now I am just going back to a cable pair rather than waste another $139.00.

    They have never been wet and I have looked after them carefully, but I seem to have experienced many of the same issues that others have reported. The faults are too common and intermittent in my case to just blame on the user.

    Apple should either stop selling these or fix them and do a a repair exchange program like they do with other products that have a manufacturing fault like I experienced with an older iPhone and my Watch. Otherwise they could do a trade in program even.

    Great Product When it Works (Fragile & Breaks easily)

    I had two pair, one was a replacement for the other. The 2nd one they provided barely lasted 3.5 months before the of the earphones stopped working, and apple refused to cover fix or replacement. Something like this should last longer the 1 year, let alone 3.5 months. I unfortunately loved them when this did work, just can't trust they won't break.

    Poor quality

    Had to replace this earphone 8 months as one side of the earbuds weren't making any sound. Got a replacement under warranty and two months after right about the warranty is expired. My replacement pair would just turn off by itself randomly and blinks red and white light. I am not sure what the problem is? Probably an battery issue. Overall these headphones sounds amazing but just does not last very long.

    First pair just stopped working. Still under warranty, sent it out for 'repair'. When it came back, it STILL didn't have full functionality.
    Expensive and poorly made. APPLE absolutely needs to stop selling these headsets.

    Broken after a year

    1 year 2months in, warranty is out...perfect time to break and that's what happened. One side is louder than the other now. Updated firmware, factory reset it, nothing.

    Love Doesn't Last

    These headphones changed my life when I got them 8 months ago. I listened to music and audiobooks while doing everything....until yesterday, when I set them down briefly to grab a glass of water (so they would stay connected to my laptop when I walked away). When I came back, they stopped connecting to my computer. I've tried all the solutions I could find online but they just won't pair or even show up anymore. I definitely got a lot of hours of play out of these headphones but I'm not sure I want to spend $100 on headphones every year or so.

    really good...... until the warranty expires

    classic apple here. first chance to pry more money out of you they do. sound quality and battery life are amazing, but they will die 15 seconds after the warranty expires. All the reviews on here say the same thing, so let this just add to the mediocre average that could be a lot higher with less commercial greed.

    On my 3rd pair of beatsx now after getting 2 new pairs from warranty. Both previous pairs broke after around 10 months by flashing red and white and failing to connect. They have worked amazingly before that but not worth having to replace every year.

    Quality control

    I’m experiencing the same connectivity issues as others have mentioned here. The earbuds will completely turn off, without input even with a sufficient charge (60%+). Charging them seems hit or miss recently as the light indicator for charging flashes white/red showing the earbuds are not charging at all. Factory reset (volume down + power until the light comes on) hasnt worked and seems to be a temporary fix. Disappointing after 6 months of use

    Terrible quality

    These headphones are very convenient and decent sounding , but as you can see from other reviews, they fail very frequently. Im on my second pair and they failed again. Same thing happened like with the first one, they just suddenly stopped powering on. This is a wide spread issue and I think apple should release extended warranty program or recall them altogether.

    These headphones are not of quality. I would not recommend them. I have had two pairs of these headphones. I liked them because they were wireless and compact. I use them on planes and very occasionally to work out or run. The first pair just stopped holding battery. I would charge them and as long as they were plugged in the little light on them was on and all seemed well. As soon as you unplug (which you have to to use them), they go completely dead as a rock. This happened after 12 months. Then i sent in to be replaced by Apple. They sent me another (new?) pair. That pair worked as expected for 2.5 months until suddenly only one ear consistently produced audio. This remains to this day. I have reached out again to apple, but have yet to receive a response. I have to say, unless I can be convinced these incidents are a fluke, I will be purchasing my next earphones elsewhere.These headphones are not of quality. I would not recommend them.

    Wanna give more stars but..

    Had my BeatsX for over a year now. They’ve been great. They charge fast and sound pretty good. They dangle a bit too long sometimes. I wish there was something to fix that. Now to the only actual problem. All of a sudden they won’t work. I’m getting a pinkish white solid light that I can’t turn off. They won’t reset, power down, or connect. I don’t know what this is it seems to charge. These aren’t throw away earphones there needs to be an explanation. Like I like them but to buy them at such a price to have them just stop working unexpectedly without any answer is disheartening to say the least.

    Sound great until they stop working

    Just as everyone else said, these just stopped working one day. I think it is also important to underscore how ridiculous apple support is as well. Though I'm in the process of getting these sent back, the hoops I had to jump through to is silly. Had to login and use two factor auth to even get to a representative. They offer no refund policy, just a replacement until they deem they've done everything they can, then they'll charge you for the time you used them. So best case? I do this over and over again until someone determines I'm eligible and at that point, I'm sure I'll have enough 'usage' they won't offer any payback. I stopped using Apple stuff for this exact reason. Moral is: pay either $30 or $200 for headphones. Don't bother with beatsx.

    Great, but didn't last very long !

    Great headphones, sounded good, nice and portable, best in the market for what they do and the price. However considering they lasted little over a year for me, they are of poor build quality... wouldn't recommend unless you're ok with buying another pair just outside of warranty period.

    I love the sound but they break/malfunction far too easily

    I'm on my second set of Beats X headphones and am currently either in need of repair or replacement. However the repair price is $92 when a brand new pair sits at $99!? I'd look for an alternative to the beats x. The wiring doesn't seem to be durable and its tempermental when pairing to devices.

    BeatsX wireless earphones

    I bought the headphones a little over a year ago. Expensive earphones that did not last, even though they were not used regularly. The headphones just stopped working and did not turn on at all. When the headphones were charging, the light flashed and replaced colors, but the headphones still did not turn on. I turned to the Apple Service Center and they offered me what they had in their policy. Without checking whether it is a defective series product. From a brief inquiry on the Internet I found out that there are many who purchased these headphones and also they spoiled, part time warranty and some after the warranty. Do not recommend buying headphones, it is best to invest money in another headset company.
