Works fairly well, but very stiff

The cable works just as it should and is long enough to keep a portable hard drive out of the way. The cord however is unreasonably stiff.

Killed my hard drive. Do Not Buy!!

This cable kept on connecting and disconnecting my external hard drive after a couple months of use. Then my hard drive wouldn't mount anymore. The cable itself This cable kept on connecting and disconnecting my external hard drive after a couple months of use. Then my hard drive wouldn't mount anymore. The cable itself is made of this super cheap stiff plastic that bends and hardens really easily. it's connection on the hard drive end was very flimsy, and nearly had to force the usbc end in the macbook. It's rediculous that they charge $35.00 for this. on top of all of that, when compared to using a regular micro b with USB 2.0, and just buying a tiny usbc adapter, it was about 2x slower. I bought it because usbc is supposed to be incredibly fast, but Belkin doesn't even use the right protocol for usbc speeds and charge as if they do. Do Not Buy.

I had checked the Apple Store web site and it was out-of-stock but went into the store to look at something else and they had it in (Apple you really need to improve your online store inventory reflection). I purchased it with the expectation I would have to take it back. I had verified the standard USB-A to micro-B worked under macOS and used it for my first backup. Then I swapped in this (USB-C to Micro-B) cable and it worked as well with no issues. I do have a 2018 MacBook Pro, so I don't know if there were issues with their Computer ports or with a defective cables. A good cable with no issues for me!

DO NOT BUY - did not work on any external hard drive

I ended up buying a Western Digital My Paasport for Mac that already includes the micro B to usb C cable. This cable never worked it is just a waste of money. External Hard Drives did work perfectly with the WD cable and also worked flawlessly with the normal USB A adaptor.
