Don't get me wrong, the printer itself is well built and surprisingly compact and prints are great, that's not the issue, you just CANNOT scan or copy to a network folder. Hp interface is not compatible, or should i say the inept SMB connections that Apple use means you cannot connect the printer to the shared folder on the computer. This is an issue across all Hp printers looking at the forums, should have done better research, but you would think that Apple wouldn't sell an incompatible product on the own store. Tried it on my 15 yer old PC laptop, took 1 minute to setup. Product not 1 star, Apple 1 star

Don't buy this if you use airport extremes in your network

I've just spent 3 hours on the phone with HP engineers who were unable to get it working for more than 6 pages of printing at a time. After that, we had to reset it to factory settings and then go through the set up wizard once more to continue to printing from the print queue. HP eventually told me that HP printers must be connected to the first router that brings the internet in to your home and any onward connections or bridges (such as airport extremes) would confuse the HP printer. My only options now is to connect it via a ethernet cable to my airport extreme, which completely defeats the point of a wireless printer. I'm not at all happy. This AirPrint stuff is advertised as a simple plug and play option, but it's not unless you have a very simple set up. For anyone else, I'd recommend you certainly avoid this printer, probably avoid HP printers and maybe consider just sticking with wired connections so you don't get the same headache I've now got from having thrown my money away.

Although printing wirelessly does actually work; it's when the printer goes into "sleep" mode that the printer disconnects from the computer and will not "communicate" to ANY device/pc/iMac. It also occurs through Ethernet connections as well, although the driver does "wake" up from idle mode when initiating a printing cache. It does not have a two-sided color copying nor a SD card slot.

      Great Printer!

I've been using this printer for about 8 months and it works flawlessly with our PCs (Windows 10), iPhones, iPad, and my MacBook Pro (macOS Sierra). The wireles I've been using this printer for about 8 months and it works flawlessly with our PCs (Windows 10), iPhones, iPad, and my MacBook Pro (macOS Sierra). The wireless scanner feature works well as does having the ability to use the sheet feeder for the scanner. I'm still on the original cartridges but bought a high capacity for when the black wears out. Make sure you download the latest computer software from HP and that you have it set to automatically update and you should be fine. As a musician and teacher the auto duplex feature is great. I thought the paper tray (tray 2) would be too small but I don't really have an issue. I would have liked a tray-loader for tray 1 as you have to feed one sheet at a time but that comes when you spend more money on a higher model. Been able to print on all paper types including transparencies. The printer is in the basement in my home office and our wireless router is on the floor above and haven't had any issues. On my iOS devices I can access the duplex, tray, and color options when printing documents or websites.
