FileMaker Pro 18 Advanced
FileMaker Pro Advanced is part of a Workplace Innovation Platform used to create custom apps to help solve your unique business challenges. Manage contacts, inventory, projects and more. Plus, get a suite of advanced development and diagnostic tools to help you design and maintain your apps with ease.
Make your own app
With FileMaker Pro Advanced, you can either build a custom app yourself, or choose a trusted partner to help you.
Securely share information with small or large teams in real time on any device. The same app works on a mobile device, computer, the web, on-premise and in the cloud.
Get started quickly
Use a built-in template, or drag and drop a spreadsheet to get started. Easily build custom reports, connect to existing systems, integrate with external apps and more.
Instantly pinpoint problem areas in scripts and script triggers directly in the Script Workspace.
Monitor fields, variables and calculations while troubleshooting.
Enable AES 256-bit encryption to protect data on FileMaker Server, on a FileMaker client or in the cloud.
Database design report
Run comprehensive reports on all elements of your database schema.
New user interface for importing data — map imported source data to FileMaker fields more easily using the new Import Field Mapping dialogue box.
Open specific app at launch — provide better app discoverability for your users. Open a specific custom app when opening FileMaker Pro Advanced.
File version comparison — save a copy of a FileMaker file in XML format to more easily compare changes between file versions.
File-based script steps — create scripts that read, write and manage external data files to write log files or export data in a custom format.
Script error logging — debug your workflow automation more easily. Use a preview script step to write information about script errors to a log file.
While calculation function — repeats logic while the condition is true, then returns the result; replacing the need for some recursive custom functions.
SetRecursion calculation function — sets the maximum number of iterations to 50,000 for recursion and loops within an expression. The limit can be lowered or raised.
New managed security access — new privilege set allows developers to offload account access management to other team members without needing to provide full access to any other parts of the file.
New Manage Security dialogue box — the streamlined Manage Security dialogue box makes managing access to your custom apps more efficient.
Default file access protection — the “Require full access privileges to use references to this file” is now enabled by default in newly created files.
