The hub got extremely hot after a few minutes of being plugged in. At one point, I was afraid it might explode so I had to unplug it right away. It almost burnt my hand and made my laptop hot as well. Decided to give it a second try with my brother’s laptop and the same thing happened. Definitely not worth getting! 😕

This is the best USB-C Hub I have used and I will only ever buy Satechi Hub

I assumed all products would have this problem after using several different ones, until I came across Satechi – I have actually been using another version of their product for more than 6 months now and it definitely does NOT have this problem. The terminal must be built with better materials, after 6 months of use it was still perfectly intact. But after losing it somewhere, I have purchased this version available on the Applestore, and already I can tell, this product will have not have this issue either. The product has a real premium feel and weight to it. I can also charge my Macbook through its USB-C port, whilst using it (some of the other devices don't allow charge). The Micro SD card has a click/lock mechanism, and so you know when it has clicked in and wont eject or come lose. Data transfer speeds was on par with all the other drives (I think they all run at max speed). The only downside was Applestore use Royal Mail to deliver, though on this occasion, Royal mail managed to deliver on time!

Good quality and works as described

I've replaced my 2012 MacBook Air with the new MacBook Air since it released in 2018 with the Thunderbolt 3 ports. After going through so many adapters online, I've replaced my 2012 MacBook Air with the new MacBook Air since it released in 2018 with the Thunderbolt 3 ports. After going through so many adapters online, I found the Satechi adapter and thought it, not only looked great, but was perfect for what I used to connect to my old MacBook Air (HDMI for TV, SD card slots for photos, and USB port for my external hard drive or syncing my iPhone). A must have for all new MacBook owners!
