I had to use an xacto knife to peel the pad off the metal and subsequently slice it in half so it would be much thinner. After reapplying the pad, tha adaptor fits properly but it is annoying to have to retrofit this small thing especially after spending almost $50 on it.

I almost didn't buy it due to some negative reviews. Honestly, this lock couldn't be more simple. The trick is to lay the Mac Pro on it's side (I put it on my sweater), and then apply the two sides of the lock. You don't need to open the Mac Pro or anything. Really well worth it. Took 2 minutes.

      Really easy

At first I was a bit concerned due to some of the reviews. But I found the lock pretty easy to attach. Trick is to slip a pad of paper under the tooth portion to hold it in place for the top coupler. Then, with a little pressure, the holes align for the lock. Took 1 min.

      disappointing

An overpriced & cumbersome device that needs to be purchased to fix an Apple design fault. Why was a security lock port removed from the design of the Mac An overpriced & cumbersome device that needs to be purchased to fix an Apple design fault. Why was a security lock port removed from the design of the Mac Pro (it's only been on every previous model)? Especially given the significantly increased value & portability of the Mac Pro. Poor design means that it's not a simple thing to use (and I have mechanical engineering experience)

      It works!

I was reading about the rubber thickness but the lock works if you place it carefully in the slot. just a little pressure and it should fit.
